Kaufmann beating Sreeja and Batra at the Olympics wasn't a fluke. She's a long pips killer and big match fighter. Definitely the favourite pick for LA28 singles if she continues this trajectory.
The strategic value of bringing Hashimoto (Kaufmann counter) and Nagasaki (Kaufmann imitator in terms of power) here rather than Odo (useless) becomes clear now. Unless Odo can bring something to the table especially in terms of XT, I get the hunch that she will be on the back burner.

You can't see the value in having Satsuki Odo on Mixed Teams? She's a silver medalist in XD at the 2025 WTTC. She's 2024 Asian Championships Gold Medalist in WD and has also won 4 WD titles with Miwa and the pair made it to the finals of the 2025 Euro Smash. She's also beaten WMY, a player who hadn't lost to a Japanese player since 2019. Oh, but I forgot. For some reason you're anti-Miki House so that negates all of her achievements.

Can you say that in all seriousness after seeing all the players Sally beat here and her performance against Winter and in recent events?

The strategy of Sally 2, Lily 1, got them all the way here. It was 1 point away from working again. Why all the second guessing now?

Amy is probably in school and would been helpful for sure.

That was insane.
Think Connor has played well despite inexperience at this level.
Between Anna, Tintin, Tom, Connor and Sam and potential work from Liam, Larry and Paul, I think they have earned the right to some funding for LA 2028. There is a strong XT team somewhere in there that can do damage.

Republic of Kazakhstan has a valid State President Mr.Tokaev a real devotee to the sport of table tennis. And China President Si is a true admirer for basketball. Poor, poor Chinese.

I get the prediction but Walker is a really strong player (with big highs and lows) so I really didn't understand it. But I could see 3-0 and 3-2. Brazil surprised them with the order change.
The prediction was basically that Iizuka would beat Walker🤷‍♂️

MT QF KOR vs CHN.

  • Now we can put Unker G's hypothesis to the test.
  • Gozo's hypothesis state that in the GRP stage Team CHN already knew whatever the outcome, they will enter the knock-out stage due to ranking.
  • Hence why show all your cards.
  • In the QF stage, we may see the true colour of team CHN.

Yeah, I'm not disputing that the rules are insufficient.
You can't have differing interpretation for partially hidden balls during service, that's farce.

But in THIS instance it was deemed to be ok.
So where is the written explanation from ITTF for this?

We can have opinions on what would make more sense or what would be preferred but without the written explanation for whats actually what you can't definitively say that you are correct and someone else is wrong.
As long as different outcomes are being produced from the same happening we have a real grey area 🤷
Adam was commenting on this in the game where Dang Qiu was playing Baldwin and the empire called out Baldwin for a hidden serve. He could be wrong but I am sure for him and his co-commentator to be saying this in detail while waiting for TTR would like mean he has consulted on this and is correct. The TTR in this even uses AI and will correct for the actual view of the receiver as what he will see in his position. For the serve to be deem illegal, it has to be totally covered anytime throughout the serve before the contact of the servers blade. If even a tiny bit of the ball can be seen, it is deem to be legal.

So the question as many is asking is that this rule should be changed. I agree but even if it is changed to the able at any time during the serve cannot be even partially covered, we will still get this disagreement if it is illegal or legal unless there is TTR and I believe TTR in any non world tournament of even local league games is quite far from reality. Also I am not sure what is the accuracy of the AI TTR to take into account of the view from the receiver. 90% 95%, but it is definitely a improvement over not having that.
