For the JTTA XT, Hiroto is the true gem who energizes the whole squad, whereas Togami is just a royal deadweight who ruins the team, drags down every teammate, and distorts the lineup.

Togami, who turned 25 last month, does not even deserve P-Athlete if Shinozuka gets the 3rd spot. JTTA will give it to Kawakami in that scenario. They have a history/tradition of giving that spot to the next generation.

right now the problem of ShinoHari I think is that they lack a power shot to kill the rally or take the initiative. Both of them leans more towards outlasting their opponent compare to Sora Togami whose try to overpower and sacrifice safety to get points

Shinozuka at least uses his forehand enough to carry the slack on occasion. While Harimoto is extremely strong on serve and receive and uses this to gain early advantages in doubles points, his reluctance to search for forehand power shots often makes his team susceptible to patient opponents who find ways to introduce theirs.

G6 3:1 during TO for JPN. It was the TV host that mentioned HYZ being the key in G5 and now Shinozuka in G6 to help offload Harimoto and bear the burden more, which Ng Wing Nam concurred. The commentators were all focused on Shinozuka and he was clearly disturbed/in a state of doubt and yet Kishikawa still let Harimoto wasted precious time running his mouth and even advised him first and put Shinozuka on the back burner. A grave mistake.

Though hard to make out due to the cheering, WH gave it to the 2 of them straight what not to do that got them in this situation (don't drop-shot the short ball and then they would move back?), and then advised HYZ first (to keep an eye on his BH against long serve and how it's fine to just rip at it and forget the rest? And how they were playing just fine and that they just needed to stay firm a bit more and there's more that was drown out by the noise). Coming out of the TO, LSD used a long push instead to jam Harimoto and set up a half-high ball for HYZ to finish the point. That's what effective guidance should be.

In that sense, our own coach Kishikawa is very similar. He doesn't say a whole lot, but he constantly scatters hints for us to discover on our own, so the communication we have with him is excellent.

Good try by Hayata. However, the fact that she saved these tactics for WS rather than WT undeniably confirms that she has forgone her team spirit in the pursuit of individual honor way more than Ito has. Poor Harimoto for giving her all in WT F that was a lost cause from the get-go. Hirano and Hashimoto could've done much more for the team.

And here they are in the doubles semi-final. Harimoto must be terrified that Hayata will just crack open a beer and light up a cigarette during time outs. Will she even bother to move out of the way during points? It’s gotta be doubtful.
