I didn't watch game against Harimoto but it's only one game. In general he much more use BH then FH
Thats not how dominance is defined, he pivots way too much to be a backhand player.

WTT: In or out, your take?
Table tennis English teacher Hashimoto: You dumb dumb?

(While the China Smash tournament employs a video review system (TTR) on the main court, the match Hashimoto played took place on a different court. In a joint Instagram post with WTT, the tournament shared footage of the incident, asking, "Was that point in or out? At a crucial game-point moment, Honoka Hashimoto's edge ball wasn't acknowledged... What do you think?"

Hashimoto commented on the post, stating, "This matter requires further careful discussion. I sensed a moment of hesitation when the call was being made. In sports, a single point can have a massive impact on the match's outcome." She also raised questions via Instagram Stories, asking, "What constitutes fair officiating? Why is TTR available only on the main court?")

What does this say Zeio?
What change did WTT make on this seat prices?
I'm surprised if they're expensive.
I've been to WTT Frankfurt the past 3 years and the seat prices there are really cheap.
Why is it different in China?
And why so different to have the venue mostly empty?
After WCQ announced that he would not compete in this tournament and SYS was eliminated, ticket prices dropped to 29% of the original price. However, just because WCQ appeared in the spectator seats for one time, ticket prices immediately returned to the original price of 2,778 RMB.
In China, there are two kinds of people who go to watch in person. Most are fanatical fans who don’t really understand the sport—they’re just fans of a particular person—and they’re willing to pay the exorbitant original ticket price to get closer to their idol (it’s even more expensive than tickets to a famous singer’s concert, which is absolutely insane). A small minority are people who genuinely love table tennis, and because of the high ticket prices, they have to consider watching the livestream or replay on a video platform.

WTT: Exactly. That’s the cost of marketization:p

Sato WR13 (12) 4-1 CXT WR7 (7) (-2, 8, 7, 9, 8)
G1 was ugly for Sato.
G2 94, 98 and expedite rule triggered, 118
CXT's spin-reading weakness and in turn indecision inevitably emerged in G2. OTOH, Sato was saved by expedite rule kicking in during that point.
G3 42 Sato served off the net, 43, 73, 75, 85, 86, 96, 97 endline edge for CXT, 117
G4 10, 13, 43, 44, 64 TO for CXT, 74, 78, 98, 99, 119
G5 46, 76, 78, 118

CNT: Hayata for LA28!
JNT: No, shit...

I have always thought his backhand, especiallg against backspin, is often mechanically too slow. He didn't beat Harimoto with his backhand that's for sure.
He did not beat him with it, but to me it looked liked he used it a lot more stopped stepping around and that change made it possible to cover his forehand better.

As explained by ZSQ, WTT events in CHN and HKG have been so profitable largely due to exploitation/manipulation tactics. Therefore, WTT has a big part to do with the fanatical behaviors of these fangirls. Folks in the West might get the feeling that they are entitled brats but know that they are paying a fanatical price for arguably the same experience that you get.

JTTA needs to give Harimoto/Hashimoto another try and Harimoto/Sato as well as Hashimoto/Sato a try. This rigidity is getting them nowhere. If finishing as the finalists only is their goal, then Kihara/Nagasaki have done way better than Harimoto/Hayata.
Hashimoto: Me mad mad!

Whether CNT did it on purpose or not to sabotage JNT is moot now, these 1400+ pts will severely impact JNT's WD plan for LA28, alter the landscape of WS/XT and kill off whatever team spirit is left.

If Sato ends up winning this tournament Japan needs to rethink the plans for LA28.

Too early to say but she could end up taking Hayata singles spot for LA28

WMY (1) 4-1 Harimoto (3) (8, 7, -7, 5, 8)
G3 36, 56 TO for Harimoto, 76, 711
G4 41 net for WMY, 51 41 Harimoto's tomahawk serve faulted for not vertical and successfully challenged, 61, 62, 82, 84, 94 net for WMY, 104, 105, 115
G5 107, 108, 118

JNT: Shit shit!
Even Harimoto as JPN's no. 1 is in jeopardy now. Her three 1000 pts from 3 CS titles this year will expire in 3/, 8/, and 9/2027.
