Review: Yasaka Wallie Soft rubber

Blade:Stiga Energy WRB(OFF).

I had the chance to play with this rubber and decided to share my experiences to all.

Rubber characteristics:
Speed:5/10
Spin:8/10
Control:8/10
Sponge hardness:very soft
Sponge colour:dull green Overall:7/10

Serves:I was able to generate large
amounts of spin on serves as the soft sponge provided a long dwell time.Downside was that i could not serve a fast down the line serve as the sponge couldnt support it.

Serve Receives:it was really easy to return the ball with good accuracy and placement.Lifting and flicking underspin was easy.

Blocking:
Passively: Passive blocking is not for this rubber.the sponge does not support or provide momentum for the ball to go over the net.
Active:this is a strength of this rubber.i was able to block with accurate
placement and speed, creating problems for my opponents.

Topspin to topspin: a slow topspin game close to the table was achievable. As soon as the speed was increased, the sponge would bottom out.Moving away from the table meant that more power would be needed to send the ball over the net, which resulted in the sponge bottoming out. Therefore away from the table play was not an option.

Upsides: Performs well in active blocking.serve and serve receive was also easy to do well with good results.

Downsides:This rubber is slow(it was used on an OFF blade, but the sponge made it feel like an ALL.You cannot play fast with this rubber.

Conclusion:This rubber would be suited for a defensive playeq who
actively blocks, but is not really effective in todays game of table tennis, where speed is a priority.

I had the chance to play with this rubber today.

I loved the soft sponge(<30degrees).
Dwell time was great(yasaka claims spin to be 10+,and i agree with this rating).
Topspin, sidespin and backspin were great.flicking was also good.high throw angle.this rubber really shines in the field of chopping.

Downsides:slow,topspin-to-topspin not very good.the high throw angle is not a real advantage in a nospin situation.

(i used it on a 5-ply allround blade)
Has anyone else used it?if so what is your opinion?
I tried searching for reviews on tabletennisdb, but nothing came up:(

Otherwise, I want to know which equipment do you use by yourself currently?

Primary:
Custom 5 ply wood blade(allround offensive)+schildkrot rubbers.

Timo boll alc with t05fx/stiga stellan bengsston offensive with yasaka/stiga cobra(red) and mark v soft occasionally.

And today tested out the wallie on stiga 5ply wrb allround classic.

I am 1 of those people, given any setup, can play with it.
