I had previously heard that boosting the LOKI GTX PRO would be a suitable alternative to the Dignics 09C, so I tried it out.
The results showed that while control and catapult performance were indeed dramatically improved, the ball spin, launch, and feel were completely different from the 09C.

By chance, I found a replacement: 729's BATTLE LIMITLESS 37-39. Unlike other sticky rubbers made in China, this rubber grips the ball firmly and gets into the opponent's court without having to hit it hard.
In particular, the sheet is strong, allowing you to counter even the opponent's heavy spin.
The difference with the 09C is that it's a little more sticky, and the speed feels about 80% of what it should.
What do you think?

My red sheet of 729 limitless 37-39 weight 56g cut to 157x150mm. Very sticky, more than H3 and with similar speed. The thickness of the two sponges is not consistent, so good luck with ball accuracy. I never play with D09C, but I have G09C, and is significantly faster and more dynamic. Also, they have a high throw angle. I don't know where you find the similarity with 729 limitless...

I find Loki LAC green similar to G09C, slower but more linear. 2 steps away is Batle III purple and boosted H3 orange sponge.

It's amazing how long these threads go on and no one ever mentions G09c... very underestimated rubber... the PR must be bad...
i practiced against someone who had G09c. can't remember his blade. I remember his ball was quite spinny, but it was slow in a "bad" meaning. (sometimes slower balls are more difficult to play) , as is his shot was supposed to be aggressive and fast but it wasn't... to exaggerate, as if it was a girl playing..

but tbh the guy wasn't very strong, he was lower level than me.

I've said this many times - Xiom Vega China is underrated.

Unlike the newer hybrid, Vega China is very durable. If you play 6hrs a week, it can last 6 months minimum.

Vs D09C:
  • Vega China is more linear
  • Max speed is higher with D09C
  • Control is better with Vega China
  • D09C is slightly more spinny
  • It's easier to access power with Vega China
  • Vega China is slightly more tacky (if H3 is 10 sticky and D09C is 3 sticky, Vega China is ~5 sticky) --> better for short game and service
Vega China ~$42, D09C $70.

That's what fast blades are for... I tried it on a Viscaria SALC and was surprised - I am sure on a Mizutani ZLC or some SALC or SZLC blade it will be fine. Probably will block pretty well too. Obviously not the same top end power as D09c but that comes with all the usual caveats and such speed limits are good things for some people.

I don't believe that any hybrid rubber, D09c included, can last 150 hours without significant performance drop off that will noticeably affect your play.

If you are 2200+ and play away from the table sure. Below that, not so sure...

What does playing away from the table have to do with it - hitting harder?
Looping more, yes. And the sponge would still need to work fairly well and that is what majorly deteriorates with age.

when you are at 2200 or higher you’ll understand

it is the full activation of rubber, not just hitting harder
Are you over 2200 or know a lot of people who are? You might be surprised how unaware many high level players can be about small details of equipment like this.

Hitting harder seems to me another way of saying "full activation of the rubber".
