Today we’re at the Topspin Performance TT Academy with recent European Top 16 champion Sabine Winter, one of the most exciting players in the world right now!

At the end of 2024, Sabine made a big announcement on Instagram: she was switching to anti-spin on her backhand. Since making that change, she’s taken the world by storm, picking up huge wins over Chen Xingtong, Zhu Yuling and Shin Yubin, reaching the WTT Montpellier final, and winning the European Top 16 title.

Nice video, I have the same question maybe no mention of the anti brand because the video was sponsored by Andro? I have seen other sources say her anti is Dr N ABS, it this accurate?

It would be interesting to know if Sabine also tried LP and if so, what was her reasoning for picking anti versus LP.

Yes, Sabine plays ABS 3 Pro, spinfactory also advertises with that fact

antispin is much slower than any lp.
the idea is to leave the ball short -> the other guy can't loop so he pushes long with his inverted rubber -> you start looping and win the point

this is the only purpose of the antispin really..... to leave the ball short.
for any other type of chop or hit the lp is better.

No, it was pretty clear that Anti would be the way to go for her when she thought about it and discussed it with someone who then helped her make the first - and probably some more - steps.
