Hi

i have been trying an innerforce layer ALC with 05fx on my fh, its too reactive, so i've tried victas sticky, sticky soft and v20extra and K3.

Whilst the spin as fantastic they are too grippy and too slow for my technique and my style.

I have to be able to drive well when that ball is there and i also need a bit more speed from myself on slower balls as im a bit chubby a lot in my fifties and dont have the best footwork

My short pips are amazeballs on this blade.

So would dignics 09c in 1.9mm be faster than those other hybrids? Or is it like hurricane where you need a turbo nutter arm swing to get the speed?

Somewhat, but it is all relative. A hybrid is a hybrid, it is sticky and not as fast as a non-sticky rubber. That said, the tackiness on 09c is a bit less (though it can be enhanced/maintained with treatment) and that difference might be what you are looking for. But it could also be not enough. One has to try to know. IMHO, if K3 is too slow for you, then 09c won't be that different.

Thanks, I think you are right and that's why I have been reluctant to take that rather expensive gamble.
I guess I will just end up taking that chance in the end!

d09c is not as demanding as something like H3, but is more demanding than any non-hybrid I have tried and most other hybrids.

If you want a rubber that helps you when attacking slower balls, d09c is not it. You also have to accept that rubbers which help you attack slower balls more easily are naturally going to have a tradeoff in being slightly more bouncy and less controlled in the short game.

I'd recommend trying out a more balanced rubber in the ESN 45-48 degree range and then adjusting from there.

I have a slightly different blade, specifically the Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive. I recently took down my Yasaka Bolo Dragon and tried three forehand rubbers: the Victas V-15 Sticky Soft; the Stiga Helix 55; and the Dignic 09C (a very old one).

Impressions:
Sticky Soft is too fast for me. Everything was flying off the table.
Stiga Helix 55 is slower on weak and medium shots, but more controllable. (I might have liked a softer one better.)
Dignic 09C - despite its poor visual condition, it was the slowest and most controllable of the three for me.

I've kept the Dignic 09C for now on the Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive.
I also bought a new Yasaka Rakza Z, but I'll try them on the new blade.

Actually bought a NUZN 48 from TT11 on offer - think its a sign from the TT gods!
That way I can try on my IF-ALC one last time.

Just switched back to my MLC and 05fx on fh on weekend and played very well at a tournament!
