Just like how many buildings in the US don't have a 13th floor.This. And the number 8 is considered lucky because it's two round circles which is a good thing. Chinese are very superstitious. Some hotels don't even have a 4th floor.

Why? i've never heard of this beforeJust like how many buildings in the US don't have a 13th floor.
Oh, any reason behind it?The number 13 in European culture along with US is considered an unlucky number.
In many Christian cultures the number 12 is considered a holy or sacred number. Number 13 follows just after 12 so 13 is rather considered bad.Oh, any reason behind it?

Obviously, equipement is behind talent and work ethic. But, It is easier to sell rubber when the World Champ uses it. That is why we see so many identical (almost) blade with different name. Boll ALC, ZJK ALC, FZD ALC being pretty much a Viscaria. The point is, if let's say Wen Ruibo is the next Ma Long, Stiga (his BH is a Stiga rubber) can brand their new rubber as WDC equipment, and sell it. And us, EJ, will probably try it out of curiosity and being so easily influenced. And if somehow FZD decides to come back on WTT and world stage to claim a second olympic gold, now that he plays with BTY both side, DHS can lose a lot of market in favor of BTy, as they don't equip the new olympic champ.Well you worded it about as badly as could be done.
So what did you want tobdlsay, exactly?
If I understand correctly you were supposed to say:
- players not using H3 might consistently occupy the top places of the world rankings
- which might impact the sale of H3
- which might in turn lead DHS to what, magically invent a new rubber so that Chinese players can claim their rightful place at the top again?
This still puts equipment ahead of talent.
Im not sure if anyone has any idea as to what you are actually saying 😂
I don't really keep up with these trends, I know FZD tried Zyre as it was mentioned in here a few times...but I assumed he would go back to H3.Obviously, equipement is behind talent and work ethic. FZD now plays with Zyre 03 in FH (I think still D09C in BH). H3 suits Chinese TT because of the table + ball combination. Apparently, the ball in china spins a lot more than in Europe. SO H3 makes a lot of sense. Many chinese, including FZD struggled to play in Europe. They play on Tibhar table and some non DHS ball.I don't really keep up with these trends, I know FZD tried Zyre as it was mentioned in here a few times...but I assumed he would go back to H3.
Out of interest, what does he use now? Stayed with Zyre?
I think that for DHS to lose market share then Butterfly would have to take over in China.
With H3 being so cheap and durable I cannot see how expensive Butterfly rubbers will ever become the main choice there so I reckon DHS are safe enough in that regard.
I can see your point (even though the circumstances are far fetched) but my reckoning is that even if FZD comes back and beats WCQ to Olympic gold DHS will still keep their market share.
H3 is perfectly suited to top Chinese TT and I don't think another rubber can be made to surpass it, not unless they change the ball again, or something even more fundamental like the table!
The last supper, 12 apostles + Jesus = 13.Oh, any reason behind it?
both wcq and sys uses H8 with #20 sponge on their backhand, meanwhile not even amateur players touches h9Really?
Ooh okayboth wcq and sys uses H8 with #20 sponge on their backhand, meanwhile not even amateur players touches h9
Current H3 is already a new rubber compared to its previous version; less tacky and more of a hybrid.
China had actually lost way more in the 3 majors back then, after the original H/H2/H3 were officially released in 2001. It was also a time when new blood had emerged and multiple associations were going through a transition period, e.g. WLQ/MLin/WH, OSE/JSH/RSM, Boll, and Maze.My point is, if FZD somehow keeps the Zyre to play and win with it, it might send an alarm to DHS to develop a new rubber. H3 is almost 30yo. Like you said, I think H3 is hard to replace in china. But I think, it would make sense for DHS to find a replacement, with the DNA of H3. Especially if the new generation of Sora and Felix can beat the chinese in WC or OG.
Nothing traditional about Neo sponge. It's exactly a hybrid where the sponge is pre-boosted and the topsheet is lightly tacky. H3 is just Vega China VM at this point. While most agree that the topsheet of H3 today is way less tacky that the original, its sponge, especially the #22, is still the epitome of high density Chinese sponges. If you call H3 a hybrid, then what's left to represent traditional hard sponges?
Disagree. I played H3 boosted, and Vega China VM, definatelty not hybrid. Rakza Z is. Even Vega China is tough to put in Hybrid category to me. It is so close To H3. I think you don't know what hybrid is.Nothing traditional about Neo sponge. It's exactly a hybrid where the sponge is pre-boosted and the topsheet is lightly tacky. 729 Super FX is a good representative of traditional hard sponge. Battle 2 Gold would also qualify since it comes pre-glued.
