I use the saviga V in green because it's the most durable. Being a penholder, my fingers rub the pips, which breaks them in about 4 sessions.
The green one hasn't broken in almost a year of use.
Even in the US, ratings and skills differ from location.
For example, a 2000 usatt rated player from California or New York would easily be 2100-2200 in the mid west due to lack of top players.
You just need practice against LP. There are players at my club that are several hundred points lower than me, but have beaten me because they have a lot of experience against LP.
As someone mentioned, push one, attack one. Serve underspin and attack the next ball.
I use LP because they took...
I say it depends on the club you're in. If there are good players, many of them will help you out on the basics if you ask.
At least in my club, the better players have no issues helping out the new players.
I use Jupiter Asia 3. But I mainly serve with inverted then twiddle to LP.
It's a nice rubber, with an even better price tag. I think you can grab a sheet of it for 8-$10 on AliExpress
Durability, for me, is what I go for.
I play penhold with inverted and LP. Due to the finger position of penhold, the pips easily break (LP used to last me about 2 weeks).
But, the Saviga V in Green, has lasted me 5 months so far without breaking.
Hi TTD
Does Dr N make any penhold blades?
I am looking at their site and can't find any.
I purchased one (firewall+) on eBay but now that I don't see any on their site, I am doubting if the one I purchased is real.
Thank you!
Going to my first tournament in a couple of weeks!
I have advanced a decent amount.
I go 2-4 days a week, and practice my serve at home.
Last time I went to play at my club, I almost beat someone that's probably 2000+ (lost 2-3).
I lost for months, but then the touch started to come back...
