  1. Rasanter R45?

Yes to all according to my coach.
  2. Player retirement thread (not only for Japanese players)

I am sure he can concoct a reason for Hugo to retire.
  3. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

Did i hear one of the commentators mention a "Quadri Arana"? Lol.
  4. Spinniest ESN rubber?

I am not an EJ, but I tried my clubmate's racket with Rasanter R48, and it was hella spinny. Way more spin than Fastarc G1 or any of the old Xiom Vega line rubbers (Europe/Japan/Pro) I had used.
  5. Elbow getting very sore.... would a lighter racket help?

Hey, can you provide any colour on how Virtuoso AC compares with other blades in terms of speed? I was asking about it here. Thanks!
  6. How to play against Lefties?

Exactly, watch any He Zhi Wen match. Everybody struggles with this.
  7. Appears as though my service receive vs heavy side/top is bad. (video critique requested)

Loop long ones. Loop with a more closed angle and make sure you do not lift the ball. If it is heavy side you could wait for it to pass the top of the trajectory even. Many serves are easier to loop when the ball is on the way down (even though the return is suboptimal, but hey, we are not...
  8. OSP Virtuoso+ vs Vurtuoso AC

No, I used Vega Pro FH and Vega Europe BH.
  9. OSP Virtuoso+ vs Vurtuoso AC

I am using G1 on the FH, and I hate how you cannot do pure brush loops with it, you must always go a bit forward with it to engage the sponge. I got used to this, but it still irks me a bit. Love the blocks / short game with G1 though. I wonder, is there a rubber that's almost like G1, except...
  10. OSP Virtuoso+ vs Vurtuoso AC

What thickness are you using on G1? I put 1.8mm on my FH, and it is slow AF, where as on Ma Lin Carbon it feels normal. Even my coach said Virtuoso + 1.8mm G1 is unplayable.
  11. Impact of US Tariffs policies on equipment price

You will pay higher prices for everything. The exact price increases can be found in the table that mr. Trump presented: China 34% EU (All ESN) 20% Japan 24%
  12. Rubber thickness

It is not like you gain a ton by going MAX vs 2.0mm. You gain some speed, but you lose control and the racket gets heavier.
  13. Rubber thickness

It depends on the actual rubber way more than the thickness. For example, Xiom Vega Europe MAX is slower and more controllable than Tenergy 19 1.9mm.
  14. CORKSCREW --the best rewarding type of spin.

One thing about corkscrew spin is that (unlike underspin or topspin) I do not think your opponent can get a 100% clean corkscrew from you: if you serve a perfect corkscrew spin, the axis of rotation is going to change once it bounces on the table. When you serve, it is going to change twice...
  15. OSP Virtuoso+ vs Vurtuoso AC

I dunno, I played with the Virtuoso yesterday, and I had no problems with T19 on the backhand, I think I did not miss a shot. But the G1 on the FH was giving me a lot of headache: some shots went into the net, some long, it was all over the place. It also did not help that I was playing with a...
  16. CORKSCREW --the best rewarding type of spin.

You already can visualise the vertical axis, great. Now realise that what you call "a horizontal axis" is actually a horizontal plane, and contains two basic axes, for the grand total of three basic axes.
  17. OSP Virtuoso+ vs Vurtuoso AC

    >> The AC is carbon and is a big difference in feel and control as one would expect. I've never trusted myself to be able to use it in competition. Thanks. I am playing with Ma Lin Carbon, and I feel pretty comfortable with it. It is not that fast. I also tried various blades ppl have in the...
  18. Who has the best push game?

One thing I noticed is that some pros do not bother with short pushes. T. Harimoto, for example, almost always pushes long to get into a rally right away.
  19. Who has the best push game?

Yes, it is an easy ball to push back. If you opponent is not stupid, you will get a fast long push into the body or wide out of reach, and you are still super close to the table b/c you are an amateur, and your footwork sucks. Looping fast pushes is not exactly a walk in the park even when you...
  20. OPS blade, virtuoso off-

I have never tried Cybershape, but OSP Virtuoso is an awesome blade. I played with it for 12+ years. Fastarc rubbers go well with it. Tons of control in the short game, but fast if you swing/loop. I would recommend G1 on the FH, but it is not a must, C1 is also fine. Go with 1.4-1.8mm...
