The swamp kauri is not fossilized- its used for guitars, furniture, pens, and other wood art. You can read about it a lot. If the ALC blade behaves good with kauri outer ply I will buy some more sheets as I ve just read that excavating swamp kauri has been stopped.

I have the feeling that alot of deadness comes from the sponge. Has to be tuned alot and this tuner goes away quick. Try to reboost it and it comes to life again...

Rhyzen ZGR and ZGX are supposed to be the same. At least they use the same hardness in contrast to dynaryz where the zgx is softer. I must admit I only played the zgx and still playing it. It's hard to find a combo with blade and bh rubber cause it adds 10g of weight to the setup...

And what about DHS H3? Old one tacky new sheets are not. Same LARC!

Nice blade, but I don't know which model it is. For my understanding a more oval shape is better suited to 1 ply blades because they are very flexy in parallel direction to the grain. I ve made some single ply blades from Western red cedar and the longer but narrower model was the nicest to play.

I am surprised how close some results are. You TTD players are almost top level!

Maybe you get more dwelltime using 120 grit or am I wrong? Which glue to use and how many layers? Maybe you get more rebound effect using 10 layers of latex glue to imitate a 0,5mm sponge? Can you use different grit on both sides and what about colors?

Try vinegar. Few drops then gently spread it evenly and cover it for an hour. After that you can try oil in the same way and than clean it. At least you can use it a little longer, but doesnt do wonders...

Chemical, mechanical and physical changes on the rubbers are not allowed by ittf. Isnt putting in air a physical treatment?

Cant imagine this happed while playing. But yes, the old zelluloid balls burned like gasoline. When we where young we burned the broken balls and it was fun.
