  1. For the "ejing is bad" crowd....

And here's ZJK using his phone to play: Wouldn't really call either examples of EJing
  2. Which one you choose ? Special Blade

Szocs for me too. Not sure I would trust the other ones for a comp.
  3. Jpen with sp

There's a top(ish) Japanese pro playing jpen with the sonic ar short pip.
  4. San Francisco looking for training partner.

Nah, boosting is more than just softening the sponge. It's like the rubber comes alive when it's stretched out. It gives the best of both worlds...Super stable short game and blocking (hardness) and a good grabbing feeling (high tension) when loop driving :)
  5. Fancy blades are just not worth it

I think it's to do with the ayous center ply. Some pros like ML change their blade every few months, but then there's the opposite end like ZJK who still has his trusty viscaria from xxxx. 1 ply is definitely different. I know someone that still swears by his RSM Athena
  6. San Francisco looking for training partner.

Oh dear...We've become so preoccupied with proving each other wrong, we're neglecting what people are saying. Professor "Once you add a third boosting layer (i.e., re-boost), the H3 becomes very noticeably softer. If you like your H3 to be firm, then it difficult to play with." How does that...
  7. San Francisco looking for training partner.

I've also found it hard to maintain a consistent hardness after the 3rd boost. Story checks out.
  8. Blade for short pimples backhand - 40+ ball

I've found that 7 ply is too slow if you're playing a speed type pimple, it may very well still work with a change type pimple. I've ended up with one inner blade, one outer blade. Both seem to work fine.
  9. Opinion on Joola Tezzo Warrior

Dynaz ZGR Tronx ACC Was the recommended setup for below 1800s
  10. Please help me choose non-chinese rubber for beginners!

I see. If you find H3 hard to control at 40 degrees, you're probably not penetrating the sponge on most shots. From the recommended stuff, I'd pick the barracuda. Much easier to access sponge compression and isn't too bad in most other areas. It's a classic for sure.
  11. Please help me choose non-chinese rubber for beginners!

It honestly depend on what you're looking for. What's been challenging about these rubbers? If you just jump into all these suggested rubbers, you'll decimate your short game. Try and be specific about what you're not enjoying about your setup and also what you're hoping new equipment can do...
  12. Inner Fiber Dilemma.

If you like the low end and the high end, then it sounds like you now need to experiment with different inner carbon blades to find one that matches when you want the ALC to activate.
  13. Sydney table tennis club recs

Hey mate, There's a few clubs around. JJW, Nam Ho, STTC, RTTC... Inner west as in like Glebe? PM me if you want specifics.
  14. Fancy blades are just not worth it

Yep. I can attest to that, I have a very sensitive feel and although my 3 other team mates are a higher level, they don't feel the differences in vibrations like I do. We all have different strokes and different depths of contact on various strokes so it makes sense the vibrations are more...
  15. Has anyone tried H301 and H301X or H301Z or H301T? I am confused which one to get. Please help!!

Yeah the N301 is supposedly a selected version of H301, so that one will be the closest. Though I've found both the H and the X quite hard and stiff (no flex throughout), which is great for more brushing type strokes but not as good for harder deeper contact. I bought the N301 on the premise...
  16. Has anyone tried H301 and H301X or H301Z or H301T? I am confused which one to get. Please help!!

I tried the H and the X, and then I just asked my Chinese friends about Z and T haha. I did play with a N301 for a long while though.
  17. Has anyone tried H301 and H301X or H301Z or H301T? I am confused which one to get. Please help!!

It's very dependent on how hard you hit and what shots you like. Overall speed though (mid strength to full), all of them are faster than a 7 ply. They all feel kinda hard though and I never really like the series.
  18. Best short pips rubbers under $5? (with sponge)

Kmart? If you're in the US, then Walmart? You get what you pay for, $5 is close to the price of a nice ball these days.
  19. Spectol S1 vs Yinhe Pluto

Very different. S1 is just a classic short pip feel. A bit dead sponge, but otherwise a very normal. Slips a bit. Pluto is much closer to medium pip, it slips a lot. Very low throw and quite fast for a medium pip. If you are chopping the s1 is better, if you chop block, then Pluto is the way...
  20. Real or fake Boll ALC CS?
