  1. Wood vs Composite and rubber combinations

I think we're at an era that it's always hard rubbers. Then the blade is whatever you can handle. Softer rubbers are fine until you face someone that hits hard loops
  2. "chinese philosophy for equipment" blades: flexibility, stiffness, etc

That philosophy is a bit dated now. It was for the 38 mm and 40 mm era. These days most beginners and intermediate players start with something like the Clipper or similar 7 ply all wood. The Sanwei Fextra is a good example of a clipper that plays well and doesn't break the bank.
  3. Regarding top layer of the blade suited for SP (multiple questions)

Depends on your level really, and how you like to win points. I've found the 3+2 hinoki structure (think Primorac carbon) to be excellent for blocking and hitting once the rally starts, but you may come to miss the feeling and the precision of all wood 7 ply. Again, your milage may vary.
  4. Yinhe Jupiter 3 Amazing Rubber

J3 is less tacky than LAC, and therefore faster.
  5. Blade splintering due to rubber overhang

    What a BEAUTIFUL blade :)
  6. Double Fish Volant-Phoenix

I struggled to find reviews even on Chinese forums. Seems like it's quite unpopular :(
  7. Why did my boost job turn out lumpy?

Depends on thickness of booster. If you used something like FTL and didn't spread it out well enough, it'll do that.
  8. 40 degree hardness

Roughly 52 in the ESN scale
  9. Gewo Nexxus EL Pro Superselect

How do you find the topsheet grip? I feel like it's less grippy than red, which makes it less spin sensitive too though.
  10. Where are all the old forum members

A lot of threads have become toxic arguments between petulant forumers.
  11. What is STIGA Cybershape?

At this point, I may get a better answer buying the bloody thing and trying SP on it than wait haha
  12. What is STIGA Cybershape?

Has anyone tried this with pips yet? There's a video of a HK coach using long pip, I wonder if short pip would be nice on it.
  13. The best W968 Clones without the W968 price

I like the Sword hd5. Same construction, has that trampoline feel that the real one has, except it is more handle balanced, so the amplication of power isn't as pronounce.
  14. Hurricane 9 official news

So according to these "official" sellers, hurricane 9 will have red and black ON TOP OF those fancy colours. http://www.dku51.com/article-12614.html
  15. The Chess Thread

For Magnus' sake, I hope Firouzja wins the candidates.
  16. Tested Sanwei 75 ALC, GTX pro, and 729 Presto Speed

How'd you find the presto's spin? I remember I had trouble lifting backspin with it, especially by brush looping. It was fine for SP style flat hitting.
  17. My Thoughts on the Main DHS Rubbers

Hoping to see your thoughts on the H8-80 and later the H9 series :)
  18. This is a lot more interesting than WTT matches

True. China's provincial level is nothing to scoff at. It's easily comparable to most countries' top league.
  19. T-shaped handle to generate extra power.

This is from a time when I started tt...90s? 2000s?
  20. Professionals switching equipment

Ball type, table type, hall size etc
