  1. Chen Weixing vs TableTennisDaily's Dan | 1 set showdown!

His english seems pretty good -- does he speak 3 languages now?
  2. Tackiness chop 2

Tenergy, but any inverted on the backhand (aside from anti) can be problematic when chopping -- especially against higher rated players. If you plan to chop with that against strong loops/drives... you'll need to haul ass back from the table each time to do so! If it's just push push push stuff...
  3. I reached USATT rating 2000 in under 2 years

I noticed that too, but the real big change? When you started putting the hair back into a top knot! Hair down = loss
  4. Butterfly spin art...

I'm just talking about basic bounce test. Bopping the ball up and down on your blade, hitting it straight up into the air. When doing the drop test, spin art bounces probably 1/3 less than the rozena/tenergy
  5. Butterfly spin art...

No, I've never used the boosted H3. I'm kind of basing it on some saying that yasaka rising dragon felt similar to a boosted H3... and that I think spin art feels similar to rising dragon. As far as the sponge/top sheet combo. Though spin art has much more grip than rising dragon imo Spin art...
  6. Butterfly spin art...

It's a bit different than tenergy, yes -- but probably not to the extent of a hurricane, as the sponge is still livelier and has less tack. It's kind of a hybrid of sorts in my estimation. Some say it has the worst attributes of both types! I like it because the feel is not totally dead as...
  7. Butterfly spin art...

What do you mean by funkiness? I usually do brush loops against pushes and those are blocked long or off the table quite often. Same deal with the spin art. They just seem to underestimate the amount of top spin or have trouble adjusting between chops and loops, especially slower ones.
  8. Butterfly spin art...

Throw angle? It has about the same spin as 05 so I'd imagine about the same throw but slower. So against brush loops probably higher and against drives probably lower? Not sure how heavy the 05 uncut is, but as listed the 1.9 spin art was 71 grams. I see tenergy 1.9 being listed as anywhere...
  9. Butterfly spin art...

I just got a sheet of this rubber to try out, but was a bit surprised after gluing it on. Previous reviews mention its tackiness and ability to lift balls off the table with it. So imagine my surprise when it scarcely seems more tacky than tenergy! My sheet has a very, very small amount of...
  10. Name your favorite female ping pong players

I wouldn't be so quick to write them off! Has anyone on the men's side come close to replacing Joo as a defender? I think the cagey kind of defenders can stick around a lot longer than their attacking counter-parts.
  11. Name your favorite female ping pong players

As much as I like Kim, I think there are still a number of better defenders out there. Suh Hyo Won and Wu Yang for example. Kim has perhaps the most impressive forehand attack, and uses it quite often -- making her more "mannish" with her modern defense.
  12. Your spouse disliking you playing table tennis

A guy told me his strategy was to tell his wife: I'm going to the gym! And he argued that playing a sport was no different than working out. He's exercising and trying to stay active. If your wife still says no... take up a mistress!
  13. "Harimto Effect" for me

Sounds awesome, Zhou -- I bet your robot never saw it coming!
  14. Zhang Jike or Tomokazu Harimoto... Who you picking?

Jike is going to out-craft the kid, and beat that screamer quite hastily! Actually, I'll give the youngster 2 games in total.
  15. Korean Pro vs her Sister (Seo Hyo Won vs Seo Hyo Young)

That serve from Suh at 5:19 is one she rarely uses in matches, but very very often scores a point after doing! Not sure what about it that causes so many problems for her opponents! I've seen her use that in a few deuce points and come out the winner.
  16. Difference between better and worse players?

Well, it probably goes hand in hand. Since without the basic strokes, it won't matter if you're in position or not to swing at the ball! I also see people drilling a shot from one specific location with the same position each time. So when a ball during a game goes to a different location...
  17. Difference between better and worse players?

For actual techniques, I think what holds lower rated players back is not being able to loop back spin in games. Most are too unsure of their own skill to try it, and so they get stuck in push wars. From what I've seen, once a player can consistently loop backspin, then they are able to decide...
  18. liu shiwen blade

Strange butterfly would re-release the butterfly liu shiwen blade (at a much higher price) if her sponsorship was ending soon.
  19. In search of the perfect game ...

Table tennis players are mostly nerds, so I think getting more hot women into the clubs would help attract more players -- right?
  20. Defenders Equipment - need suggestions

Most pros use tenergy 64 or 05, and if not... they use hurricane 3. Backhand is usually curl p1r, feint long 2/3, or spectol short pips. Those are for modern defenders. If you're looking for more classical setup... then thinner inverted rubbers on the forehand.
