  1. Technique correction - Trying to Fix my FH backstroke + hitting through the sponge

I also agree with SoW's comments about what is more important. It will profit you a lot more (assuming you see and read opponent's ball right) to get better position and leverage to set the strike zone, the impact point in middle of strike zone plus get the swing plane and explosion dynamics...
  2. Technique correction - Trying to Fix my FH backstroke + hitting through the sponge

SoW and D. Song are right... your swing was too horizontal... so on a higher ball you could use that swing plane and land the ball, but on the lower ball, you have to get lower with hips (and allow ball to get to your strike zone) and get the bat swing plane lower than the ball (lower for slower...
  3. US Open Table Tennis Championships-2025 (16–21 December 2025)

I was also coaching a lot more than competing, was with the numerous Freemont Table Tennis Academy kids.
  4. US Open Table Tennis Championships-2025 (16–21 December 2025)

Der_Echte played... 7 or 8 events. Had the best tourney of my life with very solid play above my level across all 5 days of the comp. Gave some trouble to players well above my level. defeated a tough one above my level. Won 3-0 and gave zero breathable oxygen to all those players rated below...
  5. Chopping with short pips?

It is simply that JSH can control and change the spin with sponged LP. The ones who like SP on BH love the ability to make more spin and attack with hit or spin on BH when they want. It is a matter of the acceptable trade-offs to the individual player.
  6. TTDaily: Does the forum need Moderators who are Active on the Forum

Ironically, or actually truthfully, this is the exact dynamic with me, I post 1/10 what I used to.
  7. Chopping with short pips?

JSK, when I translated what a friend was asking why JSH did NOT chop with Sp said that he could manipulate the spin much better and easier with LP rubbers, namely Grass D-Technos and TSP Curly Cactus.
  8. TTD Team Spin Challenge With WORLD CHAMPION!

Chairman was being very reserved for the camera. Dudes our age tend to do that.
  9. Does anyone know anything about Nittaku Feminist?

I convinced a recreational player a few decades ago (who had a few years serious training as a youth) to get this blade. The Feminist was a hitter's blade, easy to do drives, hits, smash. Had some spin ability. No blade to really compare it to. Nittaku must have stopped making this in the...

And on the day of the end of govt shut down none the less.
  11. TTDaily: Does the forum need Moderators who are Active on the Forum

hAHAHA 3X HAHA, Anyone watching my posting activity shows I do the very same more extreme this last few years. I only comment on equipment when I am in super sarcastic mood and had enough fanboy talk.
  12. TTDaily: Does the forum need Moderators who are Active on the Forum

Less than 1% know the importance and impact of DeHaggis over DACADES of TT foruming. I have seen Tony over a decade plus 1/2 and he should also be heard well when he says something. It is a real sad reality that Carl cannot pay enough time for free to TTD and LESS than 1% know his historical...
  13. Help me understand the massive diversity in price range of all wood 5 ply blafes

If any Socialist, price control luvin fool player wants price controled TT equipment, they are cordially invited to change their residence to Cuba or Venezuela. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
  14. Help me understand the massive diversity in price range of all wood 5 ply blafes

100USD for a quality wood blade is not very over-priced given today's market. Myself, I use a $30 to $40 USD blade just fine and destroy many victims using it... ... but this is a free market and suckers can (and will) pay what they want... and they get what they want dammit hell or high water.
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Got picked up on a team for this weekend's Sacramento Teams tourney. Our team won the 6100 division and we all got sum cash. All I had to do is turn in a solid doubles performance (by being consistent and letter top player hit winners) and we did our jobs and won.
  16. Easier rubber than Donic Bluestorm PRO

Yes, have used it... my BH is very dynamic and can use literally any inverted rubber, but certain soft sponeged old school and modern dynamic rubbers let me land 2 or 3 out of 100 more on the table... I will not fight against percentages like that. Z3 is maybe my 3rd favorite BH rubber. Does...
  17. Easier rubber than Donic Bluestorm PRO

No rubber on the market will do 100 out of 100 on the items OP mentioned... but there are some rubbers that will do 95 out of 100 on that long list. A lot of them will be soft sponged modern dynamic rubbers. Aurus Soft will surprise you. So will T05FX (now that there are 2 generations of...

@blahness Ur body will talk to you within the next 20 yrs. :D
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

YES @dingyibvs this is what I advocate to others, use BODY to receive serves and do not make much if any motion with arm, hand, only use it to extend more if needed, it is the step under table with foot and leaning forward with hips that get you to the ball and stable. Glad you are championing...
