This is unfortunately kind of typical for short pips, they simply have less surface area that contacts the ball so you always have to kind of 'hit' to get the rubber to grab. 102 is perhaps the most grippy short pip I've used so you might not face the same issues as with Blowfish, but at the end...

If you want to try another short pip I think VO>102 is a quintessential rubber to try. Fast and dynamic with good spin. Moristo SP if you're looking for something a bit less spinny and more straightforward

One of my clubmates got one, had a quick knock with it and my initial impressions are that its basically just a slower Dynasty. I might have to buy one myself to compare to Aura and Wavy and to fill out my Cybershape collection but the cost isn't very attractive tbh

Did you put 09C on? Wavy is pretty thick and stiff and I found it better with D80. Felt a bit clunky to me with 09C

Chinese made or Chinese brand? Chinese made definitely something like Ak47 Red or Gambler Outlaw Chinese brand, tensors like DHS Goldarc 8 or Palio Blitz

Maybe try a thinner 7 ply wood. Stiga Pure, Tibhar Szocs, are both nice 7 ply wood blades that are thinner than Clipper (6.8mm) but thicker than slower 7 ply woods like Swat and PG7

Yup when the rubber degrades it loses tackiness and also becomes softer, both of which makes the rubber faster and bouncier.

All the Pro H I have used are colored, I've tried Pro M in red and Pro XH in black, but I didn't feel any differences in topsheet feeling between the different colors. Pro H remains my favorite though

Aurus series has a softer topsheet, slightly better feeling but they are a tad less aggressive than the Fastarc G/C topsheet. I feel they are also a bit lighter than Fastarcs as well

More spin and spin more often with the fh, not every fh has to be a strong hit. Slow and spinny provides a nice contrast to cannon fh style shots

Not sure what the core woods are but Yinhe N series have some blades with thick construction. N8, N10 and N11 in particular
