  1. Spinlord Waran II

Exactly. Just like with Hurricane 3, which is an inherently slow rubber, but you can add more power yourself, and thereby more precisely calibrate the amount of power on the ball.
  2. Spinlord Waran II

Since the W2 is harder it inherently - by default - is a little slower. However, given that it is harder, you can add more power to the ball itself, which in turn means you can play faster shots in a more controlled manner, if you get what I mean. Softer rubbers are inherently faster than...
  3. Spinlord Waran II

I agree. The Waran II is less well suited for looping. It is possible to make fast, flat fishing shots from mid-distance (you can read the full written Waran II review from my web-site). For me, it is a close-to-the-table blocking and driving rubber that still allows for excellent short game.
  4. Spinlord Waran II

    Haven't tried the Fextra.
  5. Spinlord Waran II

In this particular video, I am using the Tibhar Bernadette Szocs Signature I. It is a little softer and mellower than my usual Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition.
  6. Spinlord Waran II

Actually, in this particular instance, I used the Tibhar Bernadette Szocs Signature I. It is a little softer and mellower than the SFPBE.
  7. Spinlord Waran II

At long last, and after writing many written reviews, I finally got around to review the Spinlord Waran II, a rubber that I have been playing with for the past 2-3 years, and received many questions on. I hope you enjoy it.
  8. Dhs H301x vs H301

I will be reviewing DHS Hurricane 301 vs 301x shortly. For now, here is a visual comparison.
  9. Why are 7 plys limba-ayous-a-a-a so popular?

More feeling (= advantageous in short game), slightly longer dwell time (= more spin), and quite powerful. Pro-players have superior feeling, even with carbon blades, and therefore can use those. Many of us mortals can do better with 7-ply blades imho.
  10. Editorial: It's hard to know if an equipment change actually makes you better

As someone who reviews a lot of equipment (and practices the scientific method professionally), I attempt to change as few variables as possible in order not to draw false conclusions. For example, when testing a blade, I will use my usual FH/BH rubbers, play against the same practice partner...

  16. BUBBLE - DHS Hurricane 3 national blue sponge

If your FH is strong and you do a lot of FH-FH loop rallies, I could easily see it happen. I use the more sturdy orange sponge for practice and blue sponge (leading up to and) in tournaments.
  17. Tack of the rubber gone

You can buy distilled water in any hardware store and in many grocery stores (e.g., near baby food) - but why? The water cannot possibly be so bad that it leaves a residue?
  18. Introduce yourself to the forum! :)

Since I couldn't make the password retrieval function work, I had to create a new profile. I have played 14 + 6 years. Located in the Pacific Northwest. 2017 US Open O40 doubles win. I review equipment for TT11.
