  1. Any European rubbers that can replace Hurricane?

Intrigued by what customised versions exist but are not commercial. Are you in a position to tell us all the differences being tested?
  2. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

During the YouTube live feed available in UK for the Harimoto match the commentator said he's using O7 Tour 😅 Nice to see them confirm this, other marketing makes it seem he's just using C55. I find it quite funny they don't mention what blade he used though. Because.... Ahem... Definitely...
  3. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

Has anyone else noticed the Xiom global website blade page has been updated? AJH, CDS and HAL blades are all listed there when supposedly they have been discontinued. If this is the case why have the thumbnail images been updated with the horrible CGI renderings in same style as the new images...
  4. Spinniest ESN rubber?

Simultaneously all of them and none of them are the "spinniest". Spin is determined by execution of technique. Sure, different rubbers will have measurably higher or lower levels of available grip/friction but if not applied correctly it won't spin the ball.
  5. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

I've just done the same basket. 25 must be the European mainland or maybe EU maximum discount. I get 30% based in UK
  6. Best 47-47.5 degree backhand rubber?

+1 here for party pooping. It's far less exciting than new rubber to try out, but working on your technique will yield more spin than changing equipment.
  7. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

Can you name the shops? I'm super keen to see these on sale in Europe and to find somewhere that will ship to UK.
  8. Hammond Z2 Special or Omega 8 Euro/Pro for Acoustic Inner?

I've played with C1, G1 and Z2 (normal not special) enough to get a feel for them so hopefully I can help a little. If you can't spin well with C1, I wouldn't recommend Z2 or Omega. You admit that your technique is lacking when it comes to the spin you want. My immediate thought there is that...
  9. Haifu, white, black, yellow oils

@Tony's Table Tennis do you have experiences with all the Haifu national versions (and Kailin) to share how they are different? Which last longer? Which makes most speed/spin increase? Which has softens the sponge most? Etc. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you share.
  10. Haifu, white, black, yellow oils

I'm pretty sure in this video he's trying to create a fair test by using the same amount of booster on each rubber, 2 grams. Wait to absorb to test how long it takes. Then repeat with another 2g layer. What he doesn't discuss in the video as far as I remember, is that different boosters will...
  11. Seeking advice related to Yinhe rubbers on Yinhe T2s blade

I haven't used a T2S but I have used yinhe rubbers on fast carbon blades. Similar to @mocker88 I would recommend Big Dipper H40 or Jupiter 3 Asia H41 on FH and Moon 12 Blue medium for BH. Both BD and J3A have a little more bounce to them than other Chinese rubbers, so hopefully you will...
  12. Recommendation for upgrade Blade vs change the rubbers

If you're returning to play after a break where you feel your form has dropped, I would replace the rubbers with the same or very similar. Make it easier to get back on form with familiar equipment. Then when you're comfortable and confident again with your performance, start changing the setup...
  13. Zhang Jike signs with Donic

Any ideas on what sponge hardness for each will be? J1=60? J2=55? J3=50?
  14. I suck at this sport, please help me.

Some things I noticed in the video. All observations about your BH. Much harder to comment on your FH because you jump out of the screen on the video 😅. It looks like you're training with a long but slow ball feed and as McSmasher points out as well, you're practicing close to the table against...
  15. Xiom new collection (2025)

I have a hunch that the new Hugo TMXi pro could well be the AJH TMXi pro with a new handle. Details in Xioms catalogue for unreleased products don't seem to be set in stone.
  16. How should I return short and low no spin serves that come to my backhand other than pushing them long or slowly flicking them being left handed?

It seems a lot like you're too focused on what FZD was doing in 1 particular match, rather than what you are capable of. I'm pretty certain there'll be countless other examples of FZD matches where he barely misses a flick regardless of what spin is presented. It sounds like you struggle with...
  17. Switch away from Chinese FH rubber, what to choose?

I primarily play with 729 Battle 2 H40 on FH and Donic Bluestar A1 BH I find if I flip my bat around I can easily adapt to Bluestar on FH, it's certainly faster but to me still feels quite familiar as a tacky rubber user. Hard feeling with a bit of springiness but nowhere near as bouncy as...
  18. How do I improve my backhand? (closed)

It's tough to say without seeing your technique in action. But from this description I wonder if you are contacting the ball too late in your swing, therefore you struggle to generate the grip because your racket is decelerating, the trajectory is straight because at the point of contact your...
  19. ❓What Is Your Setup, and WHY?

Blade: Xiom 36.5 ALXi Reason: I was learning to play TT using borrowed or gifted bats and felt I was improving enough to invest in an upgrade. Started researching the blades I'd used already and hitting with club mate bats to see what else I might like and found I don't particularly like all...
  20. Upgrage from Yinhe Big Dipper

If you like Big Dipper on FH, stick with it but try the H40 version. Its plenty fast and the harder sponge supports bigger hits better. In my experience BD38 is great for control and spin, less good for speed because it's soft enough to absorb some energy on impact. If BD H40 isn't fast...
