  1. I did a Der Echte Beast mod on my blade

As above lead tape is pretty heavy - even better is tungsten powder - I bought a load to use in golf club weighting years ago - it's quite a bit (I want to say about 70%...) heavier than lead so you can use less by volume for the same weight gain.
  2. Foreright's blademaking adventure

I got around to putting rubber on the #11 blade - Xiom Vega Pro / Omega IV Pro and total weight comes out at 190g which is chonky for what I usually use but not a million miles from what you were saying above. Looking forward to actually trying it out at the club. Feel's really solid from a...
  3. Foreright's blademaking adventure

Quick update as I was reassembling my 8 year old's bat in preparation for a training session later - this was my second attempt at making a blade - all wood construction and super compact shape (148mm x 151mm). It's not especially light which is not surprising as it's 7-ply but it has super...
  4. Foreright's blademaking adventure

Definitely Ayous xD Had quite a large supply of it that I've now used up. I've used 200gsm for these - that's a bit heavy though, would use 90 by preference if I do this again although it's a fair bit more expensive.

The heaviness as I say is deliberate - theses blades have a slightly thicker core than I’ve used previously. Previous builds range from 70g to 85g :D Pretty much all the advanced level players I’ve let try these said they prefer blades in the 90g ish range. I guess the lighter weights are for us...
  6. Foreright's blademaking adventure

Hi all, inspired by the cool stuff I've seen being made on here I decided to try my hand at making a couple of blades. All I can say is it's kind of addictive and so many combinations to try out :D My son is actually using one of my first ones (as a beginner at 8 years old) and likes the fact...
  7. Balsa blade frequency

Thanks - yes I understand what the number represents in that you're effectively measuring only one "mode" of vibration of a plate, however common knowledge (haha) dictates, and various databases seem to correlate this with the overall "speed" (however you define that...) of the blade in a...
  8. Balsa blade frequency

Hi all, new here but long time lurker (mainly to look at the gorgeous stuff SDC makes and to gain inspiration xD). I have a question related to blade making and specifically relating to the frequency of blades with balsa cores. I started making some blades for my own / my son's use a few months...
