  1. XIOM C55 Impressions and Comparison with H3N

My sheet arrived this morning, 2.1mm, black, 72.5g uncut. Only very, very slightly tacky at the moment. My favorite hybrid is still Rasanter C53, will be interesting to see how it compares....
  2. Review - Xiom Vega Pro H

Could be production differences I guess, or terminology, but Xiom describe it as a sticky hybrid, it comes with the usual ESN hybrid protection sheet, and if I press down on it with my hand it feels slightly tacky (unlike original Vega Pro, which is obviously just grippy). Just like your 09c...
  3. Review - Xiom Vega Pro H

Yes it is. Slightly tacky, similar to your Glayzer 09c.
  4. Paris Olympic Games 2024

An amazing match, shame one has to lose after all that.
  5. Paris Olympic Games 2024

Maybe, or maybe China won't be in the men's final at all. Anything could happen. Taylor Swift releases a surprise album the night before the semis and boom.
  6. Paris Olympic Games 2024

Noshad is really messing Harimoto's rhythm up

  9. Friendship 2-in-1 new sponge?

I had a further session over the weekend with them. They do react well to booster and it made a noticeable difference, I could use either of them on the FH side now. They're too tacky for my BH side, I don't think any amount of booster would resolve that for me. The soft-first definitely has...
  10. Friendship 2-in-1 new sponge?

Yeah, I've accepted that there's no blade fast enough so I've slapped seamoon onto them now. I'll give them a try when boosted over the weekend.
  11. Friendship 2-in-1 new sponge?

I've had a couple of sessions with these rubbers now, first on my regular Synteliac VCI, and then on the fastest blade I have - an outer ZLC. In each session the overriding impression I had was - very slow. There is a difference between the two versions - the hard-first sponge (i.e. closer to...
  12. Friendship 2-in-1 new sponge?

They have arrived. Came in a sealed package, quite smelly once released from their plastic prison. I have Red 37/39 and Black 39/37, both weigh 69g uncut,164mm x 164mm. Topsheets are tacky, you can see from the images that the "layers" of sponge aren't evenly distributed (although I...
  13. Friendship 2-in-1 new sponge?

If you look at the packaging, both 729 and KTL are mentioned...a collaboration perhaps? Igor might call it a deal with the devil ;-)
  14. Friendship 2-in-1 new sponge?

Well, of course. I have some on the way, see how it compares to Golden Star. Want to try it before it gets banned.
  15. Friendship 729 battle 3

Yeah, back in the day I used the "loop" version of golden star and that had soft-first. Low-effort spin and lifting backspin was great but when the 2nd sponge kicked in my brain just gave up. I never tried the hard-first version, and this was a non-tacky rubber back then. I wonder what this...
  16. Friendship 729 battle 3

As ever, this kind of thing has been done before. KTL did Golden Star back in 2012. A deep cut for the truly insane EJs out there. Now the can of worms is back open! Is it legal, what does it do, who's buying it etc.....
  17. Heming Hu on Equipment

Interesting video with Heming Hu on equipment, sponsorship, boosting etc
  18. UK Table Tennis Prospects

TTE have released a video which tries to explain the reasoning behind the changes - I've only heard negative feedback from players so far, but to be honest I can't quite visualise how it will all shake out in the end.
  19. NEW Gold Arc 9

It's got more spin than Rozena, similar speed, plus some options on sponge hardness (Rozena is just....Rozena), But it's definitely in that ballpark, I think the 38 degree version is similar to Glayzer (normal, not 09c) too. Last sheet I ordered was $20 from prott, $5 shipping. To be honest...
  20. Friendship 729 battle 3

38 is still pretty hard, tough to bottom it out unless you're really swinging hard. As you say - it adds more catapult to the low end, sacrifices a little top end that probably isn't important to most people. I think B3-38 with booster compares very well to harder 50-52 degree eurojap...
