  1. Hammond Z2

I've had a few sessions with Z2 Special Edition, sponge is 5 degrees softer than regular Z2, available in max thickness only though. Reminds me a lot of a softer dignics 80, really nice BH option for me, was surprised at how good it was.
  2. Liang Jingkun changed blade at WTT Finals Fukuoka 2024?

Definitely butterfly, better pictures here -
  3. XIOM C55 Impressions and Comparison with H3N

I'm also interested in the link, but as another option I use the Rev 3 one here - https://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng/revolution-nr-3-rubber-cleaner-rejuvenator-100ml Really good at bringing tack back to chinese and hybrid rubbers, but it doesn't help with the battered appearance.
  4. WTT CHAMPIONS MONTPELLIER

Totally agree - an absolutely incredible semi final session, the entire thing was gripping from start to finish. The crowd played a big part in the whole thing - hats off to them!
  5. What are the playing differences between Rasanter R48 and C48 please??

The C range are all slightly tacky hybrids, R range are all more traditional grippy european rubbers. I think R48 is one of the better med-hard grippy ESN rubbers, high spin, good speed and catapult, medium-high arc, decent durability. C48 is slightly slower, more spin sensitive, but much...
  6. Wingspan blade

I had a Wingspan clone made by the very kind and patient UK blade maker AfroBro (many thanks Dave). We estimated the size of the balls, vicar. It's incredible over the table and for bananas in particular. But it feels awkward for some of my normal service actions, and as you mentioned really...
  7. Tibhar Hybrid K3 FX

Backhand. I have tried it on FH as well for a bit, it's ok there, lacks a little power when you hit really hard but otherwise it's a nice, steady, spinny, attacking rubber. It does fit what you're looking for, but it's very different to D80. Also, I have found on the BH side that the topsheet...
  8. XIOM C55 Impressions and Comparison with H3N

This seems like a pretty brutal stance to take, but each to their own. Admin - please delete all reviews of the 2.1mm thickness! I jest of course. Black 2.1 seems to be out of stock in most of my usual places, and I haven't seen a MAX thickness available yet. I see that Xiom advertise 2.1...
  9. Xiom Vega Asia H on FH and Europe H on BH

As jk said, the H range is quite a lot slower than the original Vegas, but more spin sensitive. You'll have to play actively, or be looking for a change in this direction. They are slightly tacky - far less than classic Chinese rubber (and less than jk's Rakza Z / PK 50), but important to say...
  10. Tibhar Hybrid K3 FX

So I'd expect topsheet durability to be the same. Which is to say - it looks rough already (10 hours), but it's only visual and the performance is still there. If my guess about the lower factory boosting is right (and it's just a guess, I may be wrong) then I'd expect a slower drop-off in...
  11. Tibhar Hybrid K3 FX

I've been using it for a few weeks now. It feels tamer than regular K3 - not just from the sponge being softer imo. K3 comes across as being highly factory boosted to me and has a really powerful top-end gear, but K3-FX feels mild in comparison. I think Tibhar have gone for a softer sponge...
  12. 27th ITTF-Asian Table Tennis Championships 2024, Astana, 10/7-13

They used to break really easily on sharp impacts, like edge hits. More recent seamless balls feel a bit harder and more resilient to me. I still prefer them to any seamed plastic ball - we still use seamless locally here. Could they explain the unexpected results? Yes, I think they have...
  13. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Oh man, a real local league smash-net-edge from Dima there at the end of game 2. That's a sickener for ZQ.
  14. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

    Hahaha his interview. Instant legend.
  15. XIOM C55 Impressions and Comparison with H3N

I've had more sessions with it now. Comparisons aside - it's a really good rubber, offering a great combination of drive power and spin on brushy shots. It feels direct at times - it's still a hard rubber and there isn't loads of low-end catapult. It gives it a tight feel overall, which does...
  16. Friendship 2-in-1 new sponge?

Depends on your own personal preference I think. I like soft outer on bh, hard outer on fh, when close in. But I've always preferred softer rubbers on my bh side so that makes sense (or became a self fulfilling prophecy).
  17. Tibhar Hybrid K3 FX

My sheet is Red, 2.0mm, 63.1g uncut.
  18. XIOM C55 Impressions and Comparison with H3N

I've got 10 hours in the bank with C55 now. It's very spinny, hard, linear. I can see where the H3 comparisons would come from based on that, but I don't think it's a good comparison really. This is definitely more on the hard esn hybrid side of the fence - I think the older hybrids like K1...
  19. WTT Champions Macao 2024, 9/9-15

This Gauzy match is worth a watch, some amazing stuff going on.
