  1. First Time Penholder: Help me out!

Personally, I am an in-between of Xu Xin and Ryu Seung Min's grip for forehand, Ma Lin for backhand. With jpen, my forehand is stiffer than a cpen forehand, but the backhand of jpen feels more stable to me, likely due to having the block for the thumb to rest on. Plus, it is easier to get a...
  2. First Time Penholder: Help me out!

To play tpb, you must unhook the thumb and press on the side of the handle, and fingers must me stacked above one another for stability, and so you can get a closed racket angle even with tpb, this isn't an easy skill at all, but practice is all it takes.
  3. Recordings of me playing with my senior

Well, since today is a Thursday, I will be playing with my friend again, the same one as seen in the first video I uploaded in this thread. I may ask him if we can play match. Tomorrow i will be going to Tampines Hub after school To play with my friend again. So more videos!
  4. Recordings of me playing with my senior

@ettk75 I usually do a reverse pendulum serve where I can hide in the motion side spin topspin or side spin backspin serves. I serve half long. Hence, that day i was teaching you at how to hold the angle of the bat to accommodate the serves. And, there is also a difference in how open the bat is...

I didn't realise that was a roller during play hahahaha
  7. cutting knives for rubber

When I got a shop to glue my rubbers for my bat, the cutting was so shabby done that the rubber edge was cut slanted in such that it exposed the sponge underneath. Resulted in edge table being unable to stay flat on the edge. I had to trimm it out at home by myself using a razor blade.
  8. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

About his forehand tho, a road accident left him with a kinda weak forehand afterwards. His dominant years weren't the longest, but he is definitely up there.
  9. Recordings of me playing with my senior

Just went through the old vids and found this smooth unintentional roller. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rpubn88l5AfHCV2lj_HS319gknA1HE8N/view?usp=drivesdk If this came in an around the net it would be good. Like Niwa's roller or maybe Joo's.
  10. Finally removing my South African flag for Taiwanese flag

Wrong phrasing. Visit Singapore one day and hope you like it and may consider trying it out to be a coach here. That I look forward to. But at the same time I know perfect sense no sensible person would want to coach in a country not known or even remotely so for table tennis. Taiwan is...

  13. G-1

Review by 'olive-nguyen' on item 'G-1'

Famous for being one of the if not the most popular rubbers for beginner and intermediate players in Asia. Affordable price plus variety of sponge hardness and many types of rubbers in the fastarc series, p-1, g-1, c-1, s-1. Good for basically everything, and easy to play with. Can be used to...
  14. Recordings of me playing with my senior

Hello Sandro, so we met up at 6, and had a friendly game. Mostly exchanged pinions of reading szpin and serve receive. Tried shake and for awhile and gave up, cause i sadly can’t even hit the table :( Then, i played with one of his friends, and had another friendly match going for awhile...

  16. Recordings of me playing with my senior

Hello everyone, today I had a good game with @ettk75 at Tampines Hub. Had a friendly game for quite awhile. @ettk75 would you mind sharing your experience?
  17. First Time Penholder: Help me out!

Well, there was one encounter between felix and Dang Qiu where i think Dang Qiu played quite a variety of high quality shots targeting his elbow. That really forced felix to have more footwork, and i believe penhold with exclusively rpb and i believe that has a larger crossover point than shakehand.
  18. First Time Penholder: Help me out!

Well, i missed a lot here eh? As for question of TPB not having a cross over point, i understand that one of the tactics for placement is hitting the ball near the teable edge lines at the elbow. Ive seen how my shake handed friends have to react to it, and that odd looking backhand, usually...

  20. ding ning

For me, there was never a recollection of it reaching a decider. Anyways she dominated the encounter.
