  1. Had a forehand loop revelation

Maybe that's just me, but once upon a time I found Brett Clarke's "forehand topspin like a boss" snippets very instructive — focused on the full body mechanics involved. A bear is used, as are golf clubs, but no animals were harmed. Brett Clarke Forehand Topspin Like a Boss
  2. Which foot do you step forward with to flick?

The wrist that grooves determines the leg that moves. No confusion there.
  3. Best ping pong paddle for beginners

The Sweden Extra is a very fine blade indeed. Over here, it’s not insanely expensive - a decent combo (eg with Vega Intro, Vega Euro, Vega Pro) can be constructed well under €100.
  4. lacquered or not ????

Couldn't that be Xu Xin applying multiple glue layers? That shine could then be the gloss of a previous, still somewhat fresh, layer. Like many, I'm all for a thin coat - for amateurs, blades aren't exactly discardables like they are for the pros.
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

What Der Joker says holds true. Development often has the form of pushing against a barrier, with frustration and motivational challenges on the side. And then you break through and get into the flow of the next level. Keep it up!
  6. San Francisco looking for training partner.

I had a few sessions with D05 and D80, and have played T05 extensively. I felt I could do with D80, but not with D05. All other things being equal, such as the price, I think I would pick D80 over T05 these days. But I might pick T19 over D80 even then, and I’s probably choose Fastarc-G1 over...
  7. Stiga Neos Sound

It's a decent rubber for starters that want to develop their game; an early rubber created to compensate for the loss of liveliness when rubber cement glue was banned. There are many rubbers in that category, and there's nothing wrong with the middle of the road when your control over the...
  8. Got an Alser allround 5

That is a mighty fine blade that is.
  9. colestt.com

The site is active, with (very) recent updates on it regarding order fullfilment. You're saying "a couple of hours ago", which to me suggest late evening/early night in local time — and Cole probably is not watching ColeTT's inbox 24/7, and responding immediately to everything every time of day...
  10. WTT in Budapest 2022

Watching the live stream I see recent results, with a 3-2 win over Wang Chuqin by Kristian Karlsson. Formidable upset, if true. What happened?
  11. Backhand Rubber suggestions

I don’t think I could distinguish Vega X from Gold Arc 8/48° other than by the print on the rubbber. I played with both.
  12. Where can I watch Star Contender ESS Day 3 Table 1?

I’m casually following the live stream in the WTT app. That’s a bit annoying, because they embraced the silent film area apparently - an not hearing the game makes you miss an awful lot of what’s going on.
  13. new equipment for 2022/23

16mm is a bit thin. The bounce of the ball will be somewhat less, and somewhat less even. Don’t expect too much (especially of the included rackets), and you’ll be fine. You’ll have to adjust when playing on a club table; that is fine too, just don’t get frustrated.
  14. Adam Bobrow channel gone?

Adam Bobrow's utube is right there.
  15. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

Strategy, tactics and execution. Strategy comes first. What’s your goal? There’s much more to it than focus on winning. Winning might be the goal. Having fun playing another. Revalidating yet another. Pick. Strategy guides tactics. Winning tactics may be very different from fun tactics. And...
  16. Alexis Lebrun is the 2022 French National Champion

Alexis must have gone into the final with tremendous confidence after that extremely high level win in the semi; that Lebrun brothers slugout was a treat to watch.
  17. Storing rubbers

I've bought a stack of G1, back when I hadn't experienced how durable it is, anticipating a much higher replacement pace. And from that stack, I've used a few slabs on backup blades, and also when I destroyed a sheet by grazing the table corner. They play well. The G1 abides.
  18. looking for a cheap table net set that can handle 7cm table thickness

7cm, that's extraordinarily thick. I doubt if you'll find any massproduced items - these go from 12 to 30mm, roughly. Many netposts will barely fit a 28mm thick table.
  19. Removing 40 year old Table Tennis Rubbers

I've restored an old blade recently - 30+ years. The rubbers had vulcanized entirely, becoming hard and brittle. And of course they were glued on with rubber cement, that also hardened out over the years. I used my hands, even so, to get as much of the rubber off as possible. It tore, and...
  20. Very clever business.
