  1. How would you make a non legal blade?

Just this week, a young player tossed me a Cybershape blade he had 3D-printed.
  2. Should I keep using this damaged viscaria?

I sometimes repair blades. I'll fix (using wood glue, pressure, and patience) the salvageable bits, fill in the rest with wood filler and gently sand and polish to get it so smooth you can't feel it when running a finger over it. Edge tape would not have saved you here, it's too much of a...
  3. Butterfly A. Mazunov V

A great blade that deserves to enjoy more hours at the table in the hands of developing talent.
  4. How to get the upper hand in bh-bh exchanges?

Placement patterns. Move the opponent about, seek their hip/elbow (crossoverpoint) then go wide, back. Play fast and deep, alternate with shorter, slower, dead or, contrarily, with heavy spin. Getting the opponent slightly uncomfortable, slightly out of position, is key. You can see this...
  5. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

Law abiding citizens get kidnapped and disappear without legal recourse. Habeas corpus is dead. And yes, Tony, China's treatment of the Uygurs, Tibetans etc. etc. (and general oppression) is horrible too. Totalitarian, repressive shitholes should be shunned, the nazi ones doubly so.
  6. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

None. No country that has thug squads mass-kidnapping and disappearing people by the thousands on a daily basis meets even the lowest standards.
  7. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

Maybe organising the event in a circus town in the middle of a desert isn't a very good idea. Not to mention the "nazi olympics" aspect of it.
  8. Hugo Calderano denied entry into the USA! Will miss the USA Smash 2025

Lucky him. He's colourful enough to get kidnapped and disappeared into CECOT, no doubt. No one with a working braincell should voluntarily risk exposition to a fascist regime by travelling to fascist shithole countries.
  9. Recommendation for 50 degrees hardness Rubber

Which then becomes $73.50 after import taxes ("tariffs"), of course.
  10. Thoughts on JOOLA Infinity Robot

The robot seems to have fallen prey to the relentless pressures of enshittification. I have a robot that, to the best of my knowledge, has been working reasonably well — until the app (which got updated) suddenly lost the facility to control the it. There's been no response to my inquiries so...
  11. Rubber recommendations for a counter-attacker

If bounciness is the problem, the Tenergy FXes won't solve it. Quite the contrary. Something like Vega Pro might be worth a shot, though.
  12. Why does my bat feel heavy

Both H3 and G1 aren't lightweights. But… it's not the weight. It's the balance that makes it feel heavy. Head heavy means more momentum, which can make your bat feel less agile. If you could add weight to the handle, it would feel lighter - the "Beast Mod". Probably not an option. You can...
  13. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

It's not you. I guess the WCQ affiliations have passed on the the WCQ slayer.
  14. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

It's not about having *a* measure, it's about having *the right* measure. But let's leave it there.
  15. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Stalling isn't about absolute time measures. Stalling is disrupting your opponents rhythm by breaking stride while the receiver's ready. That's what SYS does, and more do. I don't think you can or should conflate "having a measure" with "objective".
  16. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

Clueless? I'd say not punishing SYS's stalling *immediately after being reprimanded for stalling* was. That was so in your face; respectless, and totally lacking sportsmanship. (Unexpectedly, of course; SYS would be a great player if she had just an ounce of that.)
  17. WTT Singapore Smash 2025 (30 Jan ~ 9 Feb 2025)

I still remember the ZJK fan's cries. And the Beatles', for that matter.
  18. Which top player(s) inspired you to play?

Certainly. Like I said, variety. Of life. The spice.
  19. Which top player(s) inspired you to play?

Jacques Secrétin Dragutin Šurbek Eberhard Schöler Stellan Bengtsson Mikael Appelgren Ulf Bengtsson Kōji Matsushita Desmond Douglas Zoran Kalinić Leszek Kucharski Jean-Philippe Gatien Jean-Michel Saive Jörg Roßkopf Oh Sang-eun Vladimir Samsonov Xu Xin Of life the spice variety is. If I had to...
  20. Do these things happen in the club where you play table tennis?

I find this idea that people with more money somehow deserve preferential privileges truly abhorrent. First come, first serve; play and let play is what the "rules" ought to be.
