  1. First Time Penholder: Help me out!

That's a fair position, though my perspective is that by changing the grip you are already changing the feeling by such a huge amount compared to changing the blade. The feeling is incredibly different just because your fingers are right behind the point of impact, and you are getting feedback...
  2. First Time Penholder: Help me out!

When playing penhold I have an easier time with outer ALC / outer hardwood blades. These blades make it easier to change pace (either fast to slow, or slow to fast) and they make it easier to hit through spin and take the ball directly off the bounce. This playing style is very beneficial to...
  3. How to give crazy topspin?

You need to use your legs and hips to whip your upper body and arm. Keep the tension in your upper body pretty low (but not zero) and let your upper body respond to the momentum of the ball. You should start by brushing the ball very lightly -- as if you are petting your cat. Once you've...
  4. Why difficult to stop being an equipment junkie? Haha

Probably you just haven't found the right equipment yet :)
  5. What non Chinese player has the best chance to win the men’s singles chongqing champions event (2025)

Liang Jinkun got lucky against Felix in that decider, though. Without the nets and edges that could have ended very differently
  6. First Short Pips FH suggestion

802 is a good pip. For jpen hinoki it's hard to say -- on one hand, I think soft wood (e.g. hinoki) works best with low-friction pips. On the other hand, you only have one rubber so you can't create spin with the backhand. I'd say probably stick with 802. 802-40 is another good option, and...
  7. Anyone played/playing with Skyline 3 (the non-neo version)?

Yes, I tried Skyline TG 3 BS on both forehand and backhand, it was pretty good but not my favorite. New sheets are still very tacky, yes. Power-looping is fast and spinny, but brush looping is not so good. Also the throw angle is very low, so you need to hit higher than you think. For brush...
  8. Is the hurricane 3 neo still worth it after tack reduction?

H3 becomes a bit faster when the tackiness goes away. And it's still very grippy, you can create a lot of spin by digging into the sponge. I also like it better that way.
  9. How many fake left-handers are there?

I learned to write with my right hand (in a very outdated education system), and I play TT with a right-handed penhold. But I play tennis with my left hand because my left side is stronger. TT relies more on finesse, and tennis relies more on pure power. I can play TT lefty as well (using...
  10. First Short Pips FH suggestion

I never tried Spin Magic, but the reviews are good. It looks like you can create spin, and also make some disruptive effects. Probably similar to 802 or 802-40. As far as I know, Spin Magic is not a particularly popular pip, but maybe you'll like it.
  11. First Short Pips FH suggestion

I use Spectol Speed (1.7mm), which is sadly no longer in production. There's still one in stock on Megaspin but it's in black 1.3mm. I think Spectol S2 should be most similar to Spectol Speed. Mostly what I like about it is the hard sponge, so you can create spin with hard sharp impact, or you...
  12. First Short Pips FH suggestion

Spinfire is very similar to inverted, so it could be a good starting point. 802-40 can also create a good amount of spin -- not as much as Spinfire, and you can use it to have some disruptive effects. But both of these rubbers are primarily for playing a standard topspin game -- you are just...

  14. I'm an intermediate beginner putting together a 0 racket

Power G7 is a great racket, though the handle is on the small side. If you have bigger hands, you should get a Stiga racket (Clipper is a good choice, and so is Offensive Classic). Ma Lin Extra Offensive is another great option which is pretty cheap. For rubbers, Hurricane 3 Neo is the gold...
  15. Ready-made bats for the neighbour kids

This is the best deal I've ever found for cheap rackets: Kokutaku 6 Star Racket (2pc) Plays better than the $70 premade Stiga bats

  17. alternatives to tenergy 05

None of the rubbers you mentioned are particularly similar to Tenergy 05. Nittaku Fastarc G-1 is a good substitute imo, it's a bit slower and more controllable, and also cheaper. Alternatively, you could try Butterfly Rozena, which (according to their marketing) is a kind of baby version of Tenergy.

TT11 does in fact sell Butterfly products. They're not authorized to sell them in every country because some dealers have exclusive contracts with Butterfly for an entire country. But TT11 does sell Butterfly.
  19. Pluto

    Pluto

Pluto: The God of the underworld in Roman mythology, Pluto is deep, dark and mysterious. YINHE Pluto uses optimal pimple structure and a novel rubber formula to make "Pluto" more effective and deadlier than traditional pips-out rubber. As a result, "Pluto" is fast, produces heavy spin and very...
