  1. DHS H3N for beginner

If you're fine with H3 then maybe it's for you despite what someone else says. I have tried a few different variants of H3 and some are OK and others not so much. There is a reason why so many people say you should boost H3. If you can afford it or have other club members you can ask to try...
  2. Your favourite scissors ?

Kai 5626 A well known Japanese brand and Made in Japan. I use an Olfa L2 18mm snap blade cutter with the black extra sharp blades for even better results now.
  3. Fitness Workout for Table Tennis

At an amateur level if you can practice Falkenberg drills and do footwork correctly and staying low during gameplay that should be all the fitness workout you need for table tennis. Why waste time doing boring exercises when the best most enjoyable workout, table tennis, is already there for...
  4. Awkward state of boosting

Aren't boosters merely plasticizers for the sponge or various liquids people think act like one? If folks want to go through the trouble of boosting let them be. At this point it's some sort of cargo cult voodoo practice just because folks found a way to improve the performance of cheap Chinese...
  5. PSA: Stiga Mantra Pro H is on sale at $33.33 at Dandoy now.

My favorite backhand rubber and sibling to the Nittaku Hammond Z2. Just got myself 4 pieces of red 2.1 for that free shipping.
  6. Choosing new equipment

Let me disabuse you of the notion that putting yourself at a disadvantage equipment wise will help you grow mentally. Life is not some comic/manga. Having equipment you are happy with, confident and comfortable and feel reliable with is a great start to figuring out ways to improve. You do not...
  7. Choosing new equipment

If the edges of the racket is not sticking, chances are the glue you are using does not have enough rubber solids or has gone bad. You did not mention a budget but it sounds like you are going for the cheapest things. If you can find it inexpensively, try Copydex glue instead of a table tennis...
  8. Hurricane 3 vs Hurricane 8 for BH

Why do people assume that just because the Chinese National team uses Hurricane for their backhand now that amateurs should also do the same? In the first place what they are using is probably nowhere close to what an amateur can get commercially. I have tried various Hurricanes and won't even...
  9. Got a racket from Anders Lind

There is so much misinformation on gluing. One layer is all you need if you are using quality glue. People are also confusing rubber cement with speed glue. Rubber cement does contain VOCs and was the table tennis glue most people used before water based glues became a thing but speed glue is a...
  10. What's this cheap glue?

That's probably just rubber cement, i.e the table tennis glue people used before water based glues came along. It also probably is not speed glue if it is not specified as such because speed glue has more of the type of nasty VOC that does alter the sponge.
  11. Edges of rubber not stuck down aswell?

Alternatively you(or your friend) can get a stronger more reliable glue like Donic Formula First and reglue the rubber. It's non ammonia based, thin, and more reliable and easy to work with than many other ammonia latex glues I've tried.
  12. Rakza Z shrinks?

Any rubber will shrink after removal if you put pressure on it while rolling it on during initial gluing. This is why I use as liitle pressure a possible rolling it on. Thats just to make sure it rubber lies down evenly. Once it is adheres is when I press down a bit.
  13. Thinking about switching to Boll ALC

Just know that there is a good chance that the TB ALC will be stiffer and more unforgiving than your old Viscaria.
  14. This is a video will satisfy all your curiosity about SANWEI production

I don't understand why with all the hand work sanding the blade, most blade makers don't sand the wings to remove the sharp edge there. There are 4 sides and with the right sanding wheel/drum, it would take maybe 4 seconds total of extra time.
  15. Andro Hexer Duro Rubber

It's suitable for beginner and intermediate players but advanced players will find more performance/spin in more recent rubbers.
  16. Number of glue layers on rubber and blade

If you have good quality glue, one layer each on rubber and blade is enough. I suspect the reason why some people started to use multiple layers is because they were using bad glue which did not have enough rubber solids in it making multiple layers a requirement. In my opinion more than one...
  17. Anyone use a cutting board to trim off rubbers with Xacto knife?

Cutting board or something soft and thick enough to preserve the sharpness of the blade but still protect your work surface. Some pro rubber asssemblers use utility knives with 18mm extra sharp black snap blades as they are probably more economical than xacto blades. Sharp scissors work too but...
  18. What is more profitable: regular reboosting a cheap Chinese rubbers or buying a Euro/Jap Hybrid?

Something like the Arthur Loki China is cheap and can be even faster than a boosted H3 Neo commercial. If your time is free and the inconvenience a non-factor, it might be worth it to boost otherwise I would not even bother unless there was something about a particular boosted rubber performance...
  19. Is there a blade similar to the Butterfly Garaydia ZLC?

Just get the Butterfly Amultart. That's your best chance of getting something similar to the Garaydia ZLC. Alternatively you can get a used Garaydia ZLC if you can find it, and I'm not selling mine just yet.
