  1. Pongfinity Sensei

One of the players at my club bought one and played with it until it broke beyond repair upon an unfortunate table edge hit. Which gave me the opportunity to dissassemble it, before I used it as kindle wood. A well-built seven ply, the rubbers looked like Aurus (maybe Select) to me, and it may...
  2. Playing with two black rubbers

When I started playing two identically coloured (usually even identical) rubbers was the norm. Then again, I didn't have to play John Hilton. But even if I did, I don't actually would mind. Against twiddlers it's not the colour that tells me how to handle the coming ball; maybe the sound, but...
  3. Is the BTY Korbel (EU) head size and weight a problem?

Head heaviness isn't so much about weight. It's about balance. A low balance blade (say, <2.4cm) of 90+g won't feell all that heavy, and certainly not head heavy all that easy. A 70g high balance (say, >3cm) blade will start feeling heavy easily, even with light rubbers on it.
  4. Dignics and its Effect on Sales of Tenergy and Rozena

No, not the same at all. What I like about G1 is that it's like T05 that's less erratic in the short game. Pro H isn't like that.
  5. Blade defect after sealing?

A picture can muddle things more than 1000 words can clear up. Can you describe what it is that you think you're seeing? I just see a few lighter streaks. Your wording ("it was perfectly smooth") seems to suggest it's not perfectly smooth anymore. If so, there might be delamination going on...
  6. Most attractive table tennis players

We're STILL doing that meat market thing?
  7. Dignics and its Effect on Sales of Tenergy and Rozena

I've been playing G1 for years now, and actually would be tempted to try a 50º version.
  8. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Playing competitively again, physically diminished (double hernia, some neurological impairments in the legs). Playing well, with only one goal in mind: having fun at the table playing enjoyable rallies. Losing nearly everything, which is to be expected if you're not playing to win, but having...
  9. Las Vegas Smash!!!

    What, ecocide? Not new.
  10. Butterfly Rozena vs Vega Europe

"Better" is a relative term, as in "better fitting your level and playstyle". They're not all that dissimilar. Rozena's a bit quicker, and has a higher speed plateau. That said, Vega Euro feels safer and produces spin a bit more easily. And for me, Rozena was quite brittle, easily damaged...
  11. Slower Setup for Harimoto alc

Waitaminute. The ball just flew out from the R7, but you had no problem receiving with T05? To me a slower setup would be one with a different blade rather than different rubbers. +1 for the G1 suggestion, though; and the C1 is great as well.
  12. SDC Handmade Blades

(And I'll personally come over and bitchslap sense into anyone suggesting Sérgio substitute himself with "AI"-produced slop. That's a promise.)
  13. SDC Handmade Blades

Having been through this, I wouldn't see how. The communication in question is the essence of what makes these blades special: the detailed discussion of the needs and ideas of the customer asking for a blade versus the deep knowledge and vast experience of a master blade builder himself. It's...
  14. SDC Handmade Blades

Your time is the most valuable resource here. The basic choice, it seems to me, is a philosophical one: do you want to monetize the scarceness of your time maximally, or do you want to share your precious gift as best as you can? Your current approach is fair in the sense that you do your...
  15. Hammond Z2 Vs Fastarc G1

I haven't seen the Z2 on anybody's blade yet. New rubbers often seem tempting. I've tried a few. And I've always returned home to G1.
  16. If You're Not Good at Playing vs LP and AntiSpin, It Just Means, You Need to Improve

Many cried foul when Waldemar Fritz appeared with a sponged racket in 1951. Shortly after, Satoh swept the world championship using a sponged bat. Foul! Toxic! Sponge rackets were banned (in 1959), but that didn't make the sponge abomination go away. Instead, it lead to sandwich rackets, with...
  17. How did you know it is THE ONE? Blade and Set up.

You'll know after playing for a couple of years with it and it's become almost a part of your body. If that doesn't happen, try something else.
  18. Found this no spin loop tutorial!

    You kill it.
