  1. Need advise for my backhand rubber (Currently Rakza Z)

I'm very intrigued by the rakza Z. I've read many good things about this rubber. Most of the complaints I've read have to do with speed or the throw angle. I personally like high throw angle, but is it that slow? Some say it's plenty fast. Some say it's too hard for backhand, some say it's too...
  2. Does anybody else mentally fall apart against pure pushers or weird styles?

Yeah, that's the tactic that has worked best for me against him. He's very old, well into his 70s, no way I can out-push him so I play these high arc slow loops to force him to attack me. Then I can counter-attack, but he learned not to attack me too. I can hold myself very well against much...
  3. Does anybody else mentally fall apart against pure pushers or weird styles?

I played against one recently. The funny thing is, we played together in the same team last season, he's a good mate of mine. Well into his 70's. I remember how frustrated the opponents were when they played against him. I suffered him too. He's perfected his push over his 50+ plus years in...
  4. Gewo Codexx Super Select Vs Rasanter R 50/47 - Alternatives?

This is my experience as well, particularly in leagues where people can't topspin consistently; variety wins a lot more games than just speed. What did you end up doing? I guess the middle ground are the well-known linear rubbers, like the fastarc G-1, which was already mentioned.
  5. Hybrid rubbers with the most balanced properties

which is also the main reason why I created this post. I want to know the "Toyota Prius" from the "Ford Puma" XD
  6. Hybrid rubbers with the most balanced properties

Hybrid is such a vague term, that anything resembling B, in A, makes it "hybrid". There are no set rules per se. You see it in cars too, hence why I made the analogy with cars and the now so called "mild" hybrids. Some say it's more of a glorified start-stop system, and yet now you see companies...
  7. Hybrid rubbers with the most balanced properties

Ever so slightly tacky yes, but I think it's considered hybrid due the pimple geometry I reckon.
  8. Hybrid rubbers with the most balanced properties

I've heard good things about this one. I'll do some digging. It's easy to find in the UK, unlike the Tau II.
  9. Nittaku Hurricane 8-80

Has anyone else tried this rubber?
  10. Hybrid rubbers with the most balanced properties

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the Nuzn 48, which has similar characteristics to the Hybrid MK pro. They feel very similar to those tensors with a low catapult effect. Still much closer to an Andro Hexer than a Hurricane. That earlier generations felt much more "Hybrid". Golden Tango, Sieger...
  11. Hybrid rubbers with the most balanced properties

Nuzn is the only hybrid I've tried (48 mind you). Compared to modern tensors, the short game is better. It still feels very tensor-like in my opinion. I need to try the harder ones. I still feel the short game is easier with fastarc G-1, for example. Perhaps because I've played G-1 much longer...
  12. Fastarc C1 vs Rakza 7

I agree, there aren't many direct comparisons between the two @JJ Ng mentioned C1 would be a downgrade in terms of speed and hardness https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/topics/backhand-rakza-7-vs-c1-vs-g1-vs-vega-korea-vs-vega-japan-vs-d09c.35028/post-476713 I have tried both, but in very...
  13. Hybrid rubbers with the most balanced properties

Hi folks, I feel that most hybrid rubbers recommended are either Chinese type with a pinch of Euro/Jap salt, or Euro/Jap type salt with a pinch of Chinese. What are those hybrids that truly feel like they combine the best attributes of both? The ones that feel 50/50 so to speak.
  14. What are your favourite hybrid rubbers?

That sounds like a dream to me. Which are these rubbers? The only hybrid rubbers that are consistently reported as high throwing are Rakza Z and D09c. Which other hybrids have a high throw? I mean, high, not medium high.
  15. New Andro NUZN 48 and 45

Well, this is a rather "soft" hybrid. It feels more tensorish than for example the G1 IMO, but less than a proper tensor. I think the harder hybrids are closer to the description you mention. I think nuzn is much faster than the previous hybrids from what I can recollect in the forum. I find the...
  16. Marty Supreme table tennis film

You watched this film with my wife and sisters over the holiday season. It's fair to say there's 10% of table tennis going on in the movie. Entertaining for sure but wouldn't call it a table tennis movie
  17. Modern high arc/throw tensor or hybrid rubbers

Just an update on this. I ended up sticking a Nuzn 48 on FH instead. I wouldn't call it high throwing either but still easier to play than O8P. I'll keep this setup for some time. I'm consistently winning games against much better players. Something I realised is these newer rubbers are much...
  18. What does Rakza 7 play like?

this reminds me of when I started training in my club with the veterans and I was a newbie. Yasaka Sweden Extra, Rakza 7 1.8 on both sides. My Chinese training partner came to me, checked my rubber, he could swear I was using pips. I may go back to Rakza 7 on my BH just out of nostalgia. Those...
  19. Fastarc G1 or Glayzer 09c?

I remember when I moved from the Rakza 7 to the G1, it felt extremely hard in comparison, when in theory they have a similar hardness. It does soften up with time, and then the rubber becomes alive; it's hard to explain. Egon, interesting you mention the G1 needs a soft surface wood and an...
  20. thoughts on Fastarc G1

How does the G-1 react to different blade compositions? let's say all wood vs inner carbon vs outer carbon. I have read it feels quite different with carbon.
