  1. Pongbot Nova S Pro owners' review and discussion thread

Unfortunately no, you can only change the duration of pre-serve countdown.
  2. Which foam sponge do you use to apply glue?

It's a soft sponge, when you cut it with a scissor the middle gets compressed, so the edges end up slightly longer than the center, at least that's been my experience.
  3. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I had a fun day at the club yesterday, played some matches against someone I partnered for doubles a few months back. I had already been implementing some of what Valenta's video mentions, but this time I especially kept it in mind. After winning the first match pretty easily, shocking him...
  4. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Get good rest my man, super important! I'd recommend the new video by Jan Valenta, a lot of super good info. A couple things I think would be especially helpful for you. Besides rest, I think another important thing he mentioned was that while in practice we should be mindful in terms of...
  5. Post your latest EJ purchase

Part of my haul from before the tariffs hit.
  6. Which foam sponge do you use to apply glue?

I use the cylindrical sponge from Aliexpress. When cutting sponge the corners/edges always stick out a bit, resulting in streaks when applying glue, so I don't bother with it.
  7. Some doubts about BH topspin

The biggest issue is that you're hitting the ball way too far in front of your body. When you do that you can't really make use of your arm (or body for that matter) for power. If you tried the ball would go way off to your right. What people typically do when they make this mistake is...

In reviewing my practice matches, I find that I need to have a different 3rd ball strategy for reverse spin services. When I do regular pendulum services, I protect my BH first and foremost, but I think when I serve reverse spin I should protect my FH a bit more. It's a lot easier for the...
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Had a great practice yesterday, worked a bit more on FH this time, and to vary placement with my BH which is a work in progress. BH is becoming fairly natural to use, and FH form is improving but still not there yet. It looks a bit off, and feels a bit off as well. I think whereas before I...
  10. DHS W968 review

Lol I've been having the same issue. When hit hard the W968 generates such a beautiful ball and it's intoxicating. But hitting hard all the time is indeed quite hard. I've since decided to use a flexier Viscaria type (the FZD ALC) as an interim setup, develop some solid technique, then perhaps...

My pendulum variations are mostly heavy under/no spin. My hook serve is just OK, I do use it sometimes. I haven't tried much of the topspin/no spin combo, mostly doing back/side combo. I also have been developing a reverse pendulum service, probably my second best service right now and often...
  12. Crisp Blade = more active game??

HL5 is a good blade for low level and high level players, but not so great for intermediate level players. At the lower end (but not total beginner) it's very controllable, great dwell, not very bouncy. At the higher end it's got a powerful catapult effect, great arc allowing for a pretty direct...
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the general structure of the BH now. Working on getting a bit more compact, more focused/explosive use of force, and more body usage in more situations. I'm been tinkering so much with my FH it's hard settle down to one technique and develop consistency. It's also...

Kmmm, it's clearly a garage.
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Hey, you never know. I thought I was destined to be a FH dominant player, but lately I've found myself playing best with a balanced game, even started serving from the FH corner more. Quantitative changes can lead to qualitative changes, and it may happen all of a sudden without you ever...
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Been working nights, 12+ hours a day, so pretty exhausted when I get home. I usually wouldn't practice at all, but I'm pretty excited about the new technique so managed to get 2 short sessions in. During downtime at work I also visualized the new technique. At least for me, visualization helps a...
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I tried out the new form, trying to combine it with the backswing closer to the body. Let's just say it doesn't look like it's gonna be a simple transition lol. I was hardly hitting the ball to start, which means it's not gonna be a matter of just remembering to do it during matches.
  18. Fanzhendong ALC vs VISCARIA

The FZD ALCs feel flexier, and conversely not quite as direct, with the 92g one feeling stiffer than the 89g one. They both have a bit more woody sound, while the Vis/ZJK have a bit more of the carbon "ping". The Vis/ZJK are both significantly faster with medium powered shots typical in a BH...
  19. Fanzhendong ALC vs VISCARIA

They say it's identical, but I'm not sure if they actually tested it. Just look at the numbers, all 4 are exactly the same as Viscaria's. The chances of that happening is pretty small even if you're comparing 2 Viscarias of the same weight from the same batch. Heck, it's pretty small even if you...
  20. WTT Contender Tunis 2025 Apr 22-27

Yeah he played well, started off too far from the table, but got better once he moved closer. Needs to work on placement though. He's got the speed and technique but that's not gonna be enough against top level players. Also needs better service receives but that's normal with his experience...
