  1. Short pips for BH topspin (philosophising:D)

I have found two combinations so far, I will most probably play with one of them: Rakza PO 2.0 black on a Persson PowerCarbon, FH ZGR or ZGX, my long-time blade VO102 max black on a Freitas ALC, FH probably ZGR, a secondary blade where most rubbers seem to work. With both I can open up with...
  2. Is my strength also my biggest weakness?

Serves, serves, serves... and BH-Flip countertopspin As the opponents get better, you will not get any fifth ball attacks, as they will have attacked by that time. Very often with BH-Flip. So you need either to learn better serves so you can attack yourself or learn effective attacking of their...
  3. Now testing: Battle Max, Rxton 3 Pink, Dynaryz ZGX, and Rhyzen ZGX

With dynaryz ZGX, the pimples are much higher than ZGR and there is quite a difference between the two. I do not know if this the case with the Rhyzen series
  4. Viscaria with more control

Freitas ALC - it is slower than Viscaria, but has more control and spin. But the speed difference between 11.8 and 11.4 should not be that much. Limba outher ply instead of Kiri.
  5. what new hybrid rubber?

I did not weight them but the ZGR feels a little heavier than the ZGX, both are heavy
  6. hybrid rubbers for backhand

Rakza Z might be exactly the right option if you use a very fast carbon blade. 1) Spin on serves YES 2) Spin on loops YES 3) General feeling of dwell time YES 4) Catapult and throw angle - has a high arc and a good catapult for a tacky rubber. It just is not uncompromising, therefore it is not...
  7. what new hybrid rubber?

Some positive news: I paired the ZGR with a Freitas ALC and it works very well - it is a little bit slower than on an OFF+ blade, but everything else works better - dropping the ball short, playing a spinny loop, playing a power loop, smashing, blocking... So my conclusion is that the ZGR is a...
  8. Copy of Viscaria - The miracle recipe

What about the handles? I have experience only with Freitas ALC and Gionis Carbon, but the Butterfly handle is quite different to e.g. Donic, it allows a nice transition between FH and BH. If a blade has a very different handle, it will affect the play more than a slight difference in feel/speed.
  9. Tactics against short pips penholder

Smooth ESN rubber - JPen is ment for speed looping and smashing, the hitting area is too small for variable short pips play
  10. Low-Throw Rubber on Low-Throw Blade

I have tried a ZGR in max on a Persson PowerCarbon and the low throw combination is not playable - I did not have an arc for a normal topspin, not to speak of slow spinny opening loops. I put the ZGR on a Freitas ALC, which is probably medium throw, and, magic magic, I can play it and like it...
  11. Short pips for BH topspin (philosophising:D)

Hi, I am playing the RakzaPO, I have both a black and red version. The red is more for traditional short pips play with some spinning, the black is more for a topspin play. My question is rather theoretical, as my next "test" rubber will be the VO101 in max and black. Does it make sense to...
  12. Joola Vyzaryz Blades

Apart from the crazy names and too colourfull designs, I have to say that the top-end Joola blades are really expensive, they cost the same as butterfly. What is the sense of buying a blade similar to Freitas ALC (Freeze) when you can get the original/the industry standard/ at the same price...
  13. Upgrade path from Stiga Infinity VPS

The question is if you want to stay with a - five ply allwood blade - there are some stiga blades which are five ply and rated faster than infinity, but they are quite expensive - switch to a seven ply blade, also stiga has some - or switch to a carbon blade, either inner or normal. It is...
  14. what new hybrid rubber?

Complete turnaround, I have a dilemma - I got a used Marcos Freitas ALC by "accident" and have put the ZGR on it and RakzaPO on BH. This blade is said to have a medium throw - the ZGR plays interestingly on it, the arc is more curved and I can topspin better with it, so I will try it out also in...
  15. Original Carbospeed vs. Primorac Carbon?

Hi, I there anyone who could compare these two blades? They have the same construction - 3+2, thick core, two thick carbon layers, 2 thick hinoki outher layers. Do they play the same or similarly. I have the Carbospeed and am very happy about it, it only problem I have is the 159x151 head, the...
  16. Questions about Japanese penhold

May I suggest two things: - switching to a cpen adding cork - taking a hinoki-carbon combination You can add cork to the beginning of the handle and have the best of both worlds - the hooked forefinger grip of a jpen and the wider and two-sided blade of a cpen. Using a blade with a hinoki...
  17. what new hybrid rubber?

was it to me? zgr is bouncier
  18. what new hybrid rubber?

I have had an "out of this world" experience while EJing. I bought the Donic Original Carbospeed and paired it with short pips BH and hybrid hard FH. The result is amazing - the blade with thick core, thic carbon and thick hinoki surface layer is an absolute beast. It gives punch and speed as...
  19. Do TT pros use what they endorse?

The Donic Ovtcharov blades are now remaned to Donic Original and they are told to be very good - you get a fine blade for a very good price, the same goes for other Donic blades. I like this strategy much more than calling a blade a JM ZLC ABC EFG and charging 300 EUR/USD for a blade that the...
  20. what new hybrid rubber?

So, in the end I ordered a new sheet of the normal Rakza Z in black and max. And a new blade - the Donic Original Carbospeed - it will join my Donic Persson PowerCarbon. I still have a nearly new ZGR black and a nearly new MX-P black. And a Rakza Z EH red a nearly one new and an old one...
