  1. What do people do wrong in their weight transfer that could cause the side of their knees to hurt afterwards?

I wouldn't rule out pre-existing conditions. I've had a lot of those and long-time pain can be removed entirely just by fixing the problem. Can't say what it would be here, of course.
  2. What tt rubbers and blades do you think are the most overpriced that are still being produced?

All of the high-priced rubbers and blades are overpriced and overhyped. When it comes to special editions, often by a magnitude.
  3. New setup (moving into carbon)

Empirical testing suggests that at flat impact angles it's mostly just slower and the arc is different by a little bit, because it changes the effective coefficient of restitution. At angled impact angles however the difference can be many degrees of throw angle difference due to spin...
  4. New setup (moving into carbon)

Going to a higher sponge thickness on the same covering could also be an option. 2.2mm will be noticeably more spin sensitive (most of the time, I haven't tried FX-S) but it will also allow you to generate more spin and it will be faster. If you just need something familiar but with a bit more...
  5. New setup (moving into carbon)

If you have the money, then spend on what you like and judge it for yourself. If it's hard to control; just go towards more control.
  6. Struggling to find the right racket (offensive player)

Can't really agree with this. It's often not worth trying to "make it work" with something that you just can't use well. Especially if you're not familiar to changing equipment often and will need to re-learn every stroke from zero for it.
  7. Discussion: Is it worth trying to slow the game down again?

There's a realistic limit to what you can do with the equipment or rules before it becomes contrived. I don't think the game is ever going to slow down "enough" just out of necessity of being a game where you hit a ball. Don't you worry, though, once the equipment manufacturers feel like...
  8. Struggling to find the right racket (offensive player)

There's no shame in "downgrading"; you don't need to immediately sell or destroy the old setup. :) You can just try to come back to it in a few months and see how it goes.
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Hit for the first time with the T5000 setup; honestly, I like it a lot. It suits me a lot more than SPW. It's similar speed, maybe very slightly slower, and I found it hard to spin up the ball in the first minutes, but I got used to it quick, and blocking is a lot easier for whatever reason...
  10. Is it fine to keep a blade for a very long time?

Make sure to not get it too cold, or it might shrink an inch or two and never grow back!
  11. What do people do wrong in their weight transfer that could cause the side of their knees to hurt afterwards?

All the LLM will do is regurgitate forums. You might as well just ask directly. If you want to catch the large mistakes, find a video of a player with a similar build doing the swing, then film yourself from the same angle and compare. There's probably more going on in your swing than you...
  12. Pleasantly Surprised So Far With Meteor 845 Blue Short Pips

I ordered the "PRO" version of these to try out as a first short pips rubber. Maybe I'll put it on the other side of the long pips bat if I'm feeling particularly evil. Got it for basically nothing too.
  13. Faster blade than sanwei V5 pro/ 729 blue alc

I assume so; but are the handles shared between the yellow inner version as well? How about the cheaper yellow and blue models?
  14. What rubber would suit me the best?

Haven't you already made a few versions of this thread?
  15. Rubbers for children at school

Mercury II and Moon Speed can be bought for around 7aud and 12aud respectively on aliexpress if you buy via the bundle deals; and you get some more discounts if you buy a lot of them. Free shipping. You need to buy at least 3 copies, but that's a given.
  16. Go for Fang Bo B2X or Hurricane Long 5

Should be fine then. I prefer to do stuff myself because I know what has been done. I might buy the smallest jar you can find and apply some more yourself after a couple rubber changes if you wanna be safe. DHS blades splinter easily, Stiga as well.
  17. Tensor vs Hybrid rubbers

Coverings with a thinner topsheet and a thicker sponge. Zyre-03, Stiga Helix Platinum and so on. Amateurs aren't switching en-masse due to the extreme cost of new rubbers, I'm sure plenty of people will keep using slightly lower performance rubbers.
  18. Zyre 03 Rubber Review with Dimitrij Ovtcharov!

Thanks. That's about what I thought it would be. There's probably a limit to how much elasticity and hysteresis you can add to rubbers before they become too difficult to play for some people.
  19. Go for Fang Bo B2X or Hurricane Long 5

What did you use to seal, and did you lightly sand it after sealing? If you use something like wax, it will make it pretty slippery. Polyurethane as well although sanding should fix that. I can't remember what I used the first time I sealed a blade, but it must have been some kind of satin...
  20. Zyre 03 Rubber Review with Dimitrij Ovtcharov!

What do you think about it now? I haven't played with one, let alone seen one yet, but the thick sponge + thin topsheet combo "should" be superior to older style rubbers if they can make it work. A lot of emphasis on "should".
