Can't really agree with this. It's often not worth trying to "make it work" with something that you just can't use well. Especially if you're not familiar to changing equipment often and will need to re-learn every stroke from zero for it.

Thanks. That's about what I thought it would be. There's probably a limit to how much elasticity and hysteresis you can add to rubbers before they become too difficult to play for some people.

What did you use to seal, and did you lightly sand it after sealing? If you use something like wax, it will make it pretty slippery. Polyurethane as well although sanding should fix that. I can't remember what I used the first time I sealed a blade, but it must have been some kind of satin...

What do you think about it now? I haven't played with one, let alone seen one yet, but the thick sponge + thin topsheet combo "should" be superior to older style rubbers if they can make it work. A lot of emphasis on "should".
