  1. How does one get good at RPB

For RPB, I find it helpful to think about throwing a frisbee. Maybe even practice throwing a frisbee to understand the motion.
  2. Boosting short pips?

Have any of you tried boosting short pips? And if so, how did it turn out? I am having a hard time finding 802-40 soft sponge version, so I am thinking of trying to boost the hard sponge version. Also on that note, does anyone know where to find 802-40 soft?
  3. Darker speed 90 vs miyabi

Unlikely. If you get 10.5mm which weighs 90g, it will be very soft.
  4. Xuperman Powerplay-x: A Rubber by Xu Xin

Try it unboosted. You can always boost it more later. It's already somewhat factory-boosted, like the DHS Neo rubbers. It does feel like Skyline 2 provincial, but with a bit more springy effect.
  5. Look for rubber recommendation

Neo version is good. Just get the cheapest one, with 39 degree sponge. The standard one is called "Hurricane 3 Neo" and it might not specify sponge hardness. It should cost $20-25 USD. If you like this rubber, then you can start experimenting with different hardness, different sponge, higher...
  6. Look for rubber recommendation

Skyline 2 works incredibly well with Ma Lin Extra Offensive. You could also try Hurricane 3. These are Chinese-style rubbers, so it would be a different experience than your current rubbers. If you want something similar to your current rubbers, then you could try Andro Rasanter or Stiga Mantra.
  7. Fire Penhold Blade

Interesting post, and cool pictures. When you have a modified racket (like the pictures you posted), it just looks like a worse version of cpen 😂
  8. Fire Penhold Blade

I've tried the V-grip, I can't make it work for me. Maybe other people can manage. I don't see how one can reasonably hit a forehand shot with it.
  9. Fire Penhold Blade

I'm definitely an equipment junkie. I also do woodwork, so I've built a few of my own blades as well
  10. Fire Penhold Blade

I have one of these. I thought it was ok and it helped me transition from jpen to cpen. However, once I transitioned I very much prefer a cpen blade. The piece of wood by your thumb gives more stability, but it inhibits the flexibility of your wrist.
  11. Any top level Pro using all wood blade?

I have a hot take: carbon blades should be illegal. Makes the game too fast.
  12. Felix the champion

Yeah I'm sure the pros are at a different level and most of them could beat me 11-0 using an iphone. But Dima beat German national team players using penhold. I think that at least this is a rare quality among shakehand players. I think it's also fair to say that penhold players can pick up...
  13. Felix the champion

Ovtcharov is one of the few shakehand players who also plays penhold (and he plays it at quite a high level). Most shakehand players in my club, even the good ones, can't play penhold for peanuts
  14. Felix the champion

There is definitely a downside that penhold takes longer to learn. Sadly everyone is impatient these days. Every penholder learns how to play shakehand, but most shakehand players don't learn to play penhold. Sad :(
  15. How do you block a flat fast drive from short pips?

lobbing is the best bet, imo. If you have time, you can try to brush it up with topspin. If not, angle your paddle high for a lob.
  16. Good Jpen blades available

They're getting harder to find these days. If you're interested I would sell you one of mine.
  17. Good Jpen blades available

Butterfly Cypress T-max is my recommendation
  18. What butterfly blade should i get?

Certainly the setup you proposed would be a lot faster than what you have now. I find this setup to be very difficult to control, but I suppose that it is a matter of opinion (and skill) what is controllable and what is not. Take this with a grain of salt. This guy plays with a Viscaria and...

Dignics is hard to say even if English IS your first language
