  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Hurt my foot playing soccer last week, so have been out of action. So many things still to work on...really eager to come back quickly! It's been improving pretty quickly the last couple of days, so hopefully I can start doing some stationary exercises soon.
  2. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, 4/14-20

TTR was used during challenges. Elbeiali's serves were faulted and he challenged, hence the TTRs. HYZ was warned once and then he modified his service. I wonder if it's just a HYZ thing or a CNT thing because he really modified his service by a lot after the warning, with a much straighter...
  3. DHS fans unite!

I'm not so sure that that's correct. I've measured them with a durometer, 09c is about the same hardness as a heavily boosted H3 37, and softer than a boosted H3 38. Of course, I can only measure sponge + topsheet, but numbers don't lie.
  4. WTT CONTENDER TAIYUAN 2025

Nah, that's just the qualified players, China will substitute as they see fit. I highly doubt Xu Yingbin will be going. I do think XP already has a spot, but it's not as secure as LSD, WCQ, and LJK's.
  5. WTT CONTENDER TAIYUAN 2025

Very good draw for XP. Tough draw, yes, but there's a chance for him to face the top 4 foreigners in the tournament (Karlsson, Lim, Matsushima, and AJH), or whoever beats them. Perfect chance for him to prove that he should be picked for the WTTC after beating LSS, Calderano, and JWJ in Incheon.
  6. WTT Champions Incheon 2025 - 1-6 Apr 2025

I think the switch to the W968 is really helping his BH. Rather than trying to win with quality, he's just winning on the BH side the Ma Long way, with good defense and change ups in placement and pace, at least enough for him to get a big FH in. Same with his BH flick, which also uses...
  7. WTT Champions Incheon 2025 - 1-6 Apr 2025

Ah the sore forearm, many of us have known it well since the teenage years :ROFLMAO:
  8. WTT Champions Incheon 2025 - 1-6 Apr 2025

He was already the 5th ranked by a decent margin, I think this cemented it. Do well in Taiyuan next week and I think he can even surpass LGY in the rankings and be in top 10.
  9. ITTF WTTC Finals Doha 2025, 5/17-25

Looks like the 5 entries for the CNT on both men and women's sides should be fairly set at this point, and it'll likely be simply based on WTT rankings. Men: LSD, WCQ, LJK, LGY, and XP. Women: SYS, WMY, WYD, CXT, and KM.
  10. WTT Champions Incheon 2025 - 1-6 Apr 2025

The reason I felt fatigue was an issue is because the type of shots LSS missed more than an usual amount of, such as the pivot to loop a half-long push, or the FH flick. Those shots require a quick movement and then immediately full stability and then a delicate explosion. In practice I find...
  11. WTT Champions Incheon 2025 - 1-6 Apr 2025

Yes, W968, I think the rubbers are the same though could've changed hardness. It's got a very high throw so could take some time to get used to on the BH side in particular due to the shorter trajectory of BH shots. You saw a lot of overshoots on earlier rounds, but by the LSS game he was...
  12. WTT Champions Incheon 2025 - 1-6 Apr 2025

My gosh that was domination. I've never seen such a lopsided WTT Champions finals. I think the two matches in a day really played into this. LSS looked tired, was slow, while the much younger XP was unaffected. XP is also using new equipment, which while probably suits his game much better...
  13. WTT Champions Incheon 2025 - 1-6 Apr 2025

Jesus that was 2 ugly sets by LSS. He looks tired, the shots that require a lot of quick up and down movements by the legs he's straight missing.
  14. First time boosting H3 rubber - ruined?

Yea it's just topsheet exposed to booster, it'll most likely go away in a few days.
  15. Smooth handle

Wilson Pro Sensation is among the thinnest. It's made for Tennis rackets so you only need about 1/3 of a tape to wrap a TT racket if you want it to be as thin as possible. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GKQFTQS?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2&th=1
  16. WTT Champions Incheon 2025 - 1-6 Apr 2025

LYJ looks to be in top form, he's probably the favorite to win it now. Glad to see him getting back in form. XP is playing well, I think the switch from the acB to the W968 suits him well. He has great quickness and FH, should emphasize that. His BH is more based on spin and direction...
  17. Feedback on my League games

You're paying attention to the wrong thing. Racket angle is not very important, it's something people dynamically adjust according to the ball. The goal is always to have a constant racket angle, but when the timing isn't right, and it'll be wrong pretty often, you'll just adjust it. The...
  18. Impact of US Tariffs policies on equipment price

Right, and I believe it'll go into effect next month. It'll likely lengthen shipments from smaller vendors from China, but the actual $$ amount won't really matter since they declare so little. A 30+% tariff on a "$15" package is only like $5.
  19. Dignics 09c - New rubber is slower?

No, it's slower after ~2 weeks of use. I judge based on loops, which is what I buy the rubber for, not silly tests like dropping a ball on the racket.
  20. Impact of US Tariffs policies on equipment price

It probably won't affect things much if you buy it from smaller vendors directly from China, they tend to declare $500 packages for $15, and nobody can verify. If you buy from say TT11 though then you're SOL. Last time when Trump briefly revoked the de minimis law TT11 shipments were being held...
