Not the shoulder, I don't think. From midway down DHS blades are usually significantly narrower than butterfly blades, so if you try to sand them to make them the same shape you'd end up with a tiny blade face.
  2. Post your latest EJ purchase

Do you have a 506 series blade? Is the shoulder like a typical DHS blade or does it copy Butterfly's style?
  3. Let's talk forehand topspin of these two pros

You should read @JJ Ng's post. You can't use Pavade's style because you don't play far enough from the table.
  4. Boosting increases weight?

Yes, they're typically heavier even after cutting off the overhang, but not by that much.
  5. Tennis player talked about making a loss on the world circuit

There are plenty of videos like that. I recently watched this one, for example. He's higher rated, within top 300, and also made nothing. @Tony's Table Tennis is right, you have to consider the expenses to play on the circuit as well. This guy is higher rated at within the top 300 and it...

So EJ's, I have a question for you guys. Is there a good DHS blade that has Viscaria-like construction. I've switched up my grip a bit and now I find the W968 national's thin handle and even more importantly thin shoulder to fit my hand really, really well. I like how my Viscaria plays, but I...
  7. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Just had a practice session today. My BH loop is becoming pretty deadly from mid-distance, with solid control (i.e. can fairly consistently loop to my training partner's BH side now). My new FH form is finally coming into shape, I'm now looping with good power and better control than before...
  8. PONGBOT OMNI S PRO Robot Review

Thanks! Yeah that's the same noise I hear, so I think that's normal. I think the guy in the video is comparing when the robots are serving balls maybe? At lower speed/spin it may be a bit quieter than the Amicus but at higher speed/spin the noise cranks up quite a bit. I've got my HVAC and heat...

So I glued some old rubbers onto the Q968 to just try it out, and it's really bad. Those rubbers are boosted to hell and pretty dead though, so I think I'll try some new provincial H3's on them in a couple weeks. Compared to my once boosted H3's (never removed from the blade) whose boost effects...
  10. PONGBOT OMNI S PRO Robot Review

My Halo makes the same noise, I think some sort of motor is running, maybe a fan or something. Maybe @Jslick89 can record a close up video of when the robot is on?
  11. DHS 968 Thread

Just got my national Q968, 89.2 grams, close to listed of 89.0. I'm not gonna play with it just yet, but a couple surprising findings already. First the handle is a bit thicker than the national W968, similar to a provincial W968. Second, the frequency is only 1250 Hz, much lower than expected...
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I'm finally starting to get the new FH form down. I'm at a point where I'd I focus on the form I can execute it quite well. Next is to be execute it without thinking about it. It's been quite a pain to develop it, as it's difficult trying to change so many things at once with each change...
  13. Top disappointments of the year (2024)

By far my biggest disappointment is Ma Long losing a lead in the 7th to LSD in the China Open finals. The GOAT was so close to winning his first WTT title, in front of all his fans at home no less!
  14. Is this the world champion beater robot in the making?

If you watch QSB's videos you can track the speed/spin of regular balls already. I think the requisite technology is already there for robots to beat humans. They can track speed/spin much more accurately and quickly, and they have the agility now to keep the ball in play. All they need to do...
  15. Pongbot table tennis robot - review and comparison

For pure service return practice the Nova would probably be the best IMO. Before the Nova came out I actually specifically got a cheaper table top robot + projector stand for service practices. The location + height adjustments really allows for practices against all sorts of services. I've...
  16. Amicus Prime Users

LOL, wait until you try to make a custom drill and the name won't save. That's been the case for years with no fix for such a basic function! Also, let me know how the random placement function works. I think mine used to work but it doesn't anymore, wonder how that can be fixed.... If you...
  17. Pongbot table tennis robot - review and comparison

You actually can do those types of services with the with the PP/Amicus, what you need to do is to physically rotate the head to the side. The problem is that you then can't do a drill where it sometimes serve to the left, sometimes to the right.
  18. Pongbot table tennis robot - review and comparison

Did you not read the whole paragraph? This is what I said at the beginning of the paragraph: "You can't use the low ring position on the Amicus/Powerpong to make short heavy backspin services." I was clearly responding to your assertion that the Robopong's height is too high, and that you're...
  19. Pongbot table tennis robot - review and comparison

Right, and 2 rings visible is HIGHER than the Pongbot's height, as I previously measured. Wasn't your issue with the Pongbot's height? Wasn't it your assertion that it's too high to make low services? So why are you using a height setting that's even higher than the Pongbot's? Let me repeat...

Tell me, which ring is that?
