  1. Best non-ESN, non-BTY tensor rubber?

Interesting, I've never heard of Mizuno rubbers. In Japan, they are very popular for athletic clothes and shoes and such.
  2. Best non-ESN, non-BTY tensor rubber?

Is there any general consensus about what is the best non-ESN and non-BTY tensor rubber? Almost every rubber I hear about nowadays is a ESN. The only non-ESN rubber that I even know of is the new Hammond Z2 and Victas 07.
  3. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

I took another 200 or so of the low, short, wide, no spin serves today. Returned all of them by flick and by the end was finding my rhythm a bit and seeing some progress. I found that I returned them better when I didn't use such a long flick technique, but a shorter and more simple stroke...
  4. Hammond Z2

It is a very exciting rubber to use, but probably not the easiest rubber to use because of its hardness and low throw angle.
  5. Rubber suggestion please.

What is gears hyper like? For me, AK47 and Presto max speed are both bouncy and fast rubbers that rival many tensors in speed. Is gears hyper like that? I notice it has a low speed rating on revspin
  6. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

Right, I'm less consistent with the flick. When the ball is close to the net and very low, there isn't a lot of margin for error to make a trajectory onto the other side of the table. So I guess I try to put enough spin on the ball to bend the ball into the table. I don't think its a very...
  7. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

I did another 2 hours of just returning serve today. This time I just had a random 1000 level do serves to me. It sounds easy, but it's actually these types of no-spin guys that give me more trouble. Anyway, he did this low-spin, short, wide serve to my backhand. If I do a push, I can return...
  8. Sanwei Target Pro 3

I tested Target 90, but I didn't feel like it had more bounce. TP3 feels to me to have more bounce. Also I remember Target 90 having a slightly uncomfortably low arc, where as TP3 feels more normal to me.
  9. Sanwei Target Pro 3

Also have you tried Target National or new Target National? Is TP3 more or less the same?
  10. Sanwei Target Pro 3

Sounds good. To me, this rubber is quite similar to Battle 2. Will you try boosting this rubber?
  11. Kanak Jha

I really don't like Kanak's stroke. It looks very ugly to me, and it gives me the impression of a crab. When he wins points, I have this uneasy feeling of "he didn't deserve to win", or he won in a cheap way
  12. Kanak Jha

In Europe, Dima has the best stroke mechanics to my eye.
  13. First Impressions of Tibhar Evolution EL-D

Hey Duke, seems like you like the Evolution EL series more than the MX-P. In my area, everybody uses the MX-P. Why do you prefer the EL?
  14. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

As I said, I spent about 2 hours just receiving serve nonstop. But I have 2 questions that arose. My partner is righthanded serving to me. 1) He often served a short, wide angled serve cross court to my left with minimal spin. My instinct was to flick this ball. I started stepping forward with...
  15. Glue stuck on tacky rubber surface

I think the hand sanitizer might have messed up the rubber as well When its dry, it seems normal. But when it gets hot and humid, it seems like the rubber surface gets kinda slippery and oily. I feel the rubber is not gripping the ball on loops. Does that make sense or am i just imagining things?
  16. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

Well i spent my full playing session only returning serves today. I hope this leads to tangible benefits soon.
  17. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

After you serve, should you be in the neutral parallel stance? Or should you be at an angled stance to prepare for a forehand loop?
  18. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

Well I'm not really trying to blame anyone. But just coming from 10 years of badminton, I find that TT is just so darn frustrating. When I miss a return or pop up a return, I want to pull my hair out. When I win those easy points on my own serve, I don't feel the satisfaction of earning a point...
  19. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

I know. But the sport still feels imbalanced. A lot more serve/return errors and hard to get into good rallies.
  20. Confident when training, but s**t when playing

I actually wish the sport could be changed somehow to make the service return less extreme. But since that's not gonna happen, I guess the only way to solve my issue is to practice service return non-stop until I get a handle on it.
