  3. Boll Tricarbon, is this a good blade?

My friend asked me to glue his blade for him. Is this a good blade? Ive never heard of this. But apparently it has 3 layers of carbon.
  4. Hybrid rubbers how close to Tacky Chinese or Grippy ESN spring sponge?

I tested the D09c a little more on a friends racket. On heavy forehand loops, it is very hard and powerful like a boosted Chinese tacky rubber. But i find that on softer backhand shots, it is quite slow. So its got quite a range of gears

  7. Hybrid rubbers how close to Tacky Chinese or Grippy ESN spring sponge?

Is Bluegrip S1/S2 the first ESN company to come out with a softer and tacky BH oriented rubber? I think the existing assumption is that a tacky rubber must be hard enough to counter the tackiness. Other than S1, I'm not aware of other companies trying to fill this product role. Considering all...
  8. Hybrid rubbers how close to Tacky Chinese or Grippy ESN spring sponge?

And it doesn't restore even with rubber cleaner? That does look quite severe after just 10 hours. Will you or have you tried Bluegrip C2 or Omega 7 China? According to the list, it looks similar to K3.
  9. Hybrid rubbers how close to Tacky Chinese or Grippy ESN spring sponge?

Can you clean it with rubber cleaner?
  10. Is Hurricane 3 actually the "spinniest" rubber or is it just misperception?

H3 is very spinny, but I'm not sure if it truly is spinnier than other high quality tacky rubbers. Battle 2, Target National come to mind as other tacky/spinny rubbers. Is H3 actually noticeably spinnier than those? For me, probably not. Maybe a higher level forum player who has tried 2 or 3...
  11. TT brands introducing new series too fast, hard to understand

Oh man. I wouldve loved to get those rubbers off you to try out instead of going to the trash bin. Just curious what rubbers were you testing that got thrown away?
  12. TT brands introducing new series too fast, hard to understand

I agree that on blades, butterfly is a way overboard on chasing profits. Too many variants of the same blade. But actually they dont have so many rubbers. Basically their flagship rubber is dignics, and they have 09c to fill a specific gap in the portfolio. I dont know what gap jekyl hyde...
  13. TT brands introducing new series too fast, hard to understand

I get that there is naturally going to be a financial incentive for companies to keep introducing new lines of rubbers. But I still believe that the companies have some basic level of integrity though. I can't really see them introducing random rubbers just for the sake of sales and not having...
  14. TT brands introducing new series too fast, hard to understand

Wait, are you joking? You didn't really just throw away all those rubbers did you?
  15. Play better against 1700 opponent than 1400. Need mental advice

I find that when I play higher level players with nice strokes, I play better myself. It's easier for me to find a rhythm, and I play more positive and active. When I play a lower level player, I find myself far more tentative. I feel afraid to hit my best shots and just try to stay in the...
  16. V14 Pro vs Viscaria

A lot of people recommend the Yinhe V14 Pro as a good blade close to Viscaria. Indeed it has the same structure and same look, but maybe slightly thicker. However, after playing with the V14 Pro more, and comparing it to a mate's Viscaria, actually I have found they really don't feel very...
  17. TT brands introducing new series too fast, hard to understand

Hey Duke, i know you like testing rubbers. how long have you been testing rubbers for? If you change rubber every 2 weeks, you would have 25 sets of rubber a year. If you've been doing this 3 years, that would be 75 sets, or 150 sheets of rubber. Where did those all go?
  18. TT brands introducing new series too fast, hard to understand

Anybody else feel like TT companies are introducing new rubber series too quickly? It makes it hard for me to understand what role the new rubber series are supposed to fill. For Example Xiom recently has Jekyl and Hyde series. They already have the Omega line which is supposedly their flagship...
