  1. How to play against Hyper-Aggressive player?

You can serve short empty or short topspin. Varying backspin and empty balls into opponent's short FH is a big deal. Or serve long and engage in open rallies, just expect that it's gonna be attacked.
  2. D05/Acoustic

    No
  3. D05/Acoustic

I used to play this combo for a while and the top sheet felt a little harder than I'd like. It's good, but maybe t80 or t64 would have been better. I'm a little picky about acoustic's fh, though, and I wound up using boosted h3.
  4. Using coach's 2nd Viscaria w/Dignics 09C!

Interesting. I tried it with maybe rakza 7, and there was no "wow", of course, but what I certainly remember is that the blade is very stiff. > That said, D05 to me is an interesting rubber, I haven't tried D80 yet but I am pretty sure I will prefer it. I have dignics 64 on jm right now and...
  5. Using coach's 2nd Viscaria w/Dignics 09C!

I tried D05 on JM ZLC and it was the opposite to LGY and ZJK SZLC: dead, hard, and hollow, can't hit through the rubber, very bad. I doubt that changing ZLC to SZLC and making the blade thicker can fix this. And there's no one around with JM SZLC with D05 anyway. Tomorrow I'll be trying D09c...
  6. Using coach's 2nd Viscaria w/Dignics 09C!

My theory here is that butterfly optimized dignics 05 to their most famous and commercially successful blade, which happens to be viscaria and its descendants. BTW, D05 is even jucier with zjk szlc, I caught myself thinking that it really resembles hinoki softness. I only tried it a couple of...
  7. Best Chinese Alternatives to D09c Tier List

Looks interesting, thank you, Michael! Keep posting, you're totally fine.
  8. Dead dignics 09c ??

Why is it "pre-boosted"? It's just boosted. To the level that the perimeter of the rubber starts peeling off. I did see that Calderano's rubber is boosted but this is just a whole other level.
  9. Dead dignics 09c ??

I think it's worth looking at Franziska's Dignics:
  10. Dead dignics 09c ??

I find dignics to be very blade-dependent. Like the same pair of d09c and d05 is juciest on xiom zx1 (burnt limba), good on LGY, ok-ish on apolonia and acoustic, and insufferable on mizutani and xiom vega pro. It's all to my taste of course.
  11. Nittaku Acoustic users

I play with acoustic LG for half a year constantly and it has become my main blade now. I've had it for three years already, but the forehand was somewhat off. I couldn't find a suitable rubber. Then I switched to boosted h3 41° and it turned out to be the one. It has very high throw, there's so...
  12. Best short push tutorial bar none

I have troubles pushing short exactly these back- and sidebackspin reverse pendulum serves into forehand. In the sense that they really remain short and not chiquitable. Top- and sidespin reverse serves I can more or less reliably flick, topspin pendulum is easy to push short, whereas backspin...
  13. Backhand smash tips

No, any departure from that minimal trajectory means applying an additional force. Why necessarily "one stops right away"? Has nothing to do and not supposed to; it's not in the cited text. You can disregard return to ready position, but everything else applies: you have to choose two points...
  14. Backhand smash tips

Ok, let me approach this exercise. 1. Fairly obvious, that a racket hitting the ball belongs to the physics of rotational motion. A player accelerates the racket during the backswing, hits the ball in the middle, where the rotational velocity is maximal and decelerates the racket during the...
  15. Dignics needs break-in?

On what blade did you use it? I personally can't stand dignics on limba outer and it's very lively on koto (lgy blade) for me (tried 05 and 09c).
  16. Those using/used Baracuda, how durable is/was that for you?

If you play with it and it's ok (the sponge is not too soft) for you then it'll serve you for quite some time. I have a five years old sheet on one of the blades, it's totally ok and I played a couple of seasons with that rubber on backhand.
  17. Speed glue / tensor = same thing?

Well yes, otherwise your sponge would grow indefinitely or shrink into nothingness, but this is trivial. When you pump a "good solvent", a booster, into the sponge, it starts to expand until it's equilibrated by the topsheet's stretch. The new equilibrium is the state where the sponge is...
  18. Speed glue / tensor = same thing?

I didn't see the real technology pointed to anywhere on tt forums (and I wasn't that persistent), but there are only so many ways to create the effect of stretched topsheet we are talking about: Add a "good" solvent to the sponge to make it expand as polymers do, and to stretch the topsheet...
  19. DHS W968 review

    And what's the head size?
  20. Why does my V-14 Pro feel so heavy?

I had the same feeling with lgy blade. I guess, I just like head-heavy blades.
