  1. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

Yes vk1. That is the nightmare
  2. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

Elaborating on what Richie wrote, Schlager could look a bit awkward but he had a couple of Super Powers. One was his serve. Another was his incredibly compact and efficient footwork, which made it hard to pressure him.
  3. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

People can look pretty freaking awkward and yet always make good contact with good racket speed while making good tactical decisions. I've encountered and lost to people like that throughout my life. At a point when I was scouting somebody I learned to recognize people who are a whole lot...
  4. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

"What is wrong with you guys? By the time you feel anything the ball is long gone." Irony!!! I am reminded of the infamous Coefficient of Restitution thread at MyTT, which was actually how I became a moderator there. That flame war was possibly the longest in TT Forum history. It started...
  5. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

Yes, but ive seen people obsess over their wrist and arms and forget about their feet and torso -- and pretty much everything else. Actually, I think a lot of people should concentrate more on being relaxed during the stroke (in upper body). People trying to make the stroke "perfect" are...
  6. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

A classic book on this from a long time ago is the Inner Game of Tennis. It discussed a lot about why trying to think about your mechanics as a whole bunch of little steps will mess you up. Will "thinking" about accelerating just before contact help you? Maybe, if your technical problem is...
  7. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

Zeio quoted data from China on how the top players in the world contact the ball. Since this thread started with an instructional video, one question is, what is happening in the minds of someone like Ma Long when they execute that and how did they learn to do it? 1. What is going on in their...
  8. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

    Definitely, especially with 40+ balls.
  9. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

    If you value your sanity.
  10. can this be saved?

One of my clubmates took a blade that looked quite a bit worse than that to a guy who professionally repairs stringed instruments. It came back playing as good as new. Maybe there is someone like that near you? I know if I tried to fix it myself it would probably be a mess.
  11. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

    The shark has been jumped.
  12. Why does Nittaku make their own version?

Nittaku and DHS have had these kinds of agreements for a very long time (at least 20 years), and for a variety of products. It's DHS stuff, Nittaku sells it under their own name. I never used any of it (except balls occasionally, even in ceulloid era). It did seem like the ones with Nittaku...
  13. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

I think you should post that video you mentioned again on this thread so we can all see your, er technique. I think it would put all your comments in a proper context.
  14. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

Something Eric Owens used to tell me is that if you're having to dip THAT low (e.g. when looping really heavy underspin) you are better off just opening the racket angle a little bit*. My initial response was, "but then I won't get enough spin". His response was, "try it and see". And sure...
  15. Forehand Loop against UNDERSPIN Technique

The "accelerate on contact" thing is a purely mental construct the player uses to increase racket speed. The effect of trying to accelerate on contact is to accelerate somewhat before contact, while still managing to actually make good contact. It is a mental approach that may help some...
  16. Butterfly Viscaria poor quality control checking??? (lens issue)

The newest one that I have is a series P, I have H and N also (sold all my others which were in that same age range). I wonder if the manufacturing has gotten a bit less careful for newer ones, maybe due to markedly increased demand for this blade?
  17. Butterfly Viscaria poor quality control checking??? (lens issue)

I don't KNOW that it is a fake. But seeing something like that makes me SUSPECT it is a fake because I've never seen a flaw like that on one of mine. Of course I'm just one person. Maybe even the best manufacturers are going to have an occasional QC problem. But if this is a real Butterfly...
  18. Phone preference.

Teddy speaks pretty good English. Towards the beginning, after some complaining, he says "I like that!". And right at the end, "Get back!".
  19. Butterfly Viscaria poor quality control checking??? (lens issue)

Take it back! I've owned a lot of Viscarias and have never seen that before. Not acceptable.
