  1. Anders Lind “get a professional racket ASAP”

Sorry to be out of topic here. But your Yasaka W7 has different lens compared to mine. Is it the standard product available now in the store? Thank you
  2. First Time Penholder: Help me out!

@SFF_lib Good video, thank you for sharing. I am a shakehand player but started as a penholder. Because of the frustration in BH, I switched to shakehand grip. This was long long time ago, during TPB (no RPB back then). But I really enjoy the video and I always favor Wang Hao's grip...
  3. Big handle blades

Clipper type of blade with big handle? Say no more, it is Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black. I have one in ST and my friend's in FL. Both have big handle. EDIT: If you compare with Butterfly blades, then this is the comparison --> Korbel FL (slim) < Viscaria FL (normal) < Tibhar...
  4. A guide to buying and choosing table tennis equipment from an Intermediate player and EJ

There is no higher joy than beating an opponent (that uses newest generation of blade and rubbers), by using ordinary all-wood blade with AK47 both sides. You should look at his/her face, questioning all the major life decisions that he/she had taken in his/her life. 🤪 🤪
  5. Sanwei 54 ALC - what wood is this?

It is Limba. My limba blades' surface are different from each other: some are light color, some are yellowish color and some are darker in color. They are all Butterfly blades (which has good QC). So I guess, limba being an organic material, can vary from one to the other.
  6. Stepping away from carbon.

I speak from my own experience, so it might not generally be true (depending on the weight of the blade). I have Yasaka Extra, it is a true ALL+ blade. With newest generation tensor rubbers, it is still a good blade for amateurs like us. Now, Ma Lin Carbon is actually an OFF- blade (my...
  7. DHS poor quality control

I have been wondering this as I bought quite a lot of Palio AK-47 Red (black color) and those "smudges" / "finger prints" are almost always present. The red color is fine though. The rubbers are brand new out of the factory packaging. But it does not affect the way they play though. Back...
  8. Is the BTY Korbel (EU) head size and weight a problem?

Sorry for the late reply. If you are using Stiga Intensity, then BTY Petr Korbel is fine then, in term of head heavy factor. Stiga, although not WRB type, still have a hole in the handle, so it is rather head heavy. For BTY Korbel, although I am not sure about the handle (normal or has a...
  9. Is the BTY Korbel (EU) head size and weight a problem?

It basically depends on what you are using currently. When I used senso-type Donic blades or WRB type Stiga blades, then switching to Korbel (Japanese version by the way, 158 x 152 mm head size), I did not notice anything different. It seemed like a normal blade for me. But lately I have been...
  10. Yay! I am a looper now, so what next?

I assume that you are talking about slow heavy loop ("that come with a curve"). In the 38 mm ball era, it was not easy to smash those loops given the heavy spin. Now, with the 40+ mm plastic ball, it is much easier to just whack those slow heavy loops. How do I know? I am the one who likes...
  11. Viscaria cnt

The one at the bottom --> is it an older version or is it just dirty from extensive usage? The reason I asked is that long time ago, during the peak of Zhang Jike, there is one player with older Viscaria with black butterfly tag (I believe it is 90s or early 2000s Viscaria). I borrowed it...
  12. Anders Lind’s new blade: “Donic Anders Lind Hexa Carbon” question, please review it if you use it

Based on composition, isn't it similar to Donic True Carbon Inner (Viscaria clone, but with inner carbon)?
  13. Blade sealing w968 help

Better seal than sorry. That was my motto, until I bought Acoustic and Violin (many many years ago during the Violin and Acoustic craze). At first I hesitated to seal those 2 blades. In the end, I sealed my Acoustic but did not seal my Violin. My Violin is intact, because the outer ply is...
  14. Donic Waldner Senso Carbon replacement?

I am not trying to prove that you are wrong or anything, but this makes me curious, so I made a little research. Like I mentioned previously, my Diablo is 3+2 and when I tried to get a replacement many many years later, I found that it becomes 5+2. So I am curious, when they started to change...
  15. Donic Waldner Senso Carbon replacement?

First, it's a fact that Diablo is discontinued. Second, there are 2 types of Diablo: 1. The original Diablo is 3+2 (I own this). The intermediate ply between core and top-ply is fibreglass. 2. Many years ago, when I browsed through Donic catalog, Diablo was listed as 5+2. I don't know why...
  16. An Jaehyun back to W968

Very very good arguments above from few forum members, which I appreciate. In the past, I like Tibhar Samsonov Alpha, and many people praised that blade. telling how that blade suited Samsonov's Tai-chi style of play, until many years later it was revealed that he was using Mazunov and not...
  17. Stable All+/Off- setup

Looking at your set-up (Alpha SGS), I would prefer your set up compared to Waldner Senso Carbon. WSC is more flexible than Alpha SGS, therefore Alpha SGS is easier for blocking / flat hit. If you can choose regular Alpha (non-SGS) it is even better, because it is a bit more "stable" /...
  18. An Jaehyun back to W968

Should players ethically use the sponsor's equipment? I know in TT, many players use anything they like, while being sponsored by other brand. But if I own the brand, I felt cheated. In basket ball, let's say NBA, Michael Jordan really uses Nike. Even during Olympic, because the sponsor was...
  19. Finger placement penhold

Even if you curl your fingers, there are 3 options: 1. Only middle finger touching the back of the blade. 2. Middle and ring finger touching the back of the blade. 3. Very rare --> middle, ring and pinky finger touching the back of the blade. Usually when you have 3 fingers touching the...
  20. Felix the champion

Following my post above, this is my unverified thought about why there are more shakehanders in the CNT: 1. Shakehand is easier to learn. 2. CNT always try to find an edge to stay above other countries: for example, they have been using sticky rubbers (H3 and friends) while the rest of the...
