  1. WTT Champions Chongqing 2025 - 11-16 Mar 2025

In the match Diaz vs WM, why was points changed from 5-7 to 4-8 during the first set?
  2. Luka Mladenovic EASILY beats Darko Jorgic - can you explain the power of AntiSpin?

Luka, has no technique on his BH, let that be clear. Nor can he push on his FH because it looks for his anti (which is normal). I don't feel like watching the video of the opening again but the first 1.35 says enough and it just goes on and on. That boy, no matter how good that he tries his best...
  3. French Pro A 2024-2025

Apology regarding Joola, that shouldn't have been there.
  4. French Pro A 2024-2025

I absolutely do not know the US league. I only know that at the time a Belgian, Norbert Van de Walle started playing in America. Now, the MLTT (actually, this should come in the other topic) should perhaps revise its format and MUST insert at least a few of its own young players from the US...
  5. French Pro A 2024-2025

I don't think Tony really meant it that way. There are VERY and many good players between 35 & 40. The fact is that the MTTL does not (yet) really represent the young violence. If Lebesson and Provost, for example, still want to get their share, so be it. Money lures players in all countries and...
  6. French Pro A 2024-2025

I like Damien's style. Plays with a lot of feeling, a little bit Waldner style. But he is a sup-sup topper. Despite not featuring in the WTT circus, he would not be a top-100 player either in my humble opinion. In fact, he has now become too old for that too at 40. But he did choose a different...
  7. French Pro A 2024-2025

Come, come, world top is relative. There are indeed some top and sub-top players but the majority are sub-sub players. You can hardly call Damian Provost a sub-topper. He played one season here in the Greek league but deliberately chose the lesser matches due to other commitments elsewhere. But...
  8. Luka Mladenovic EASILY beats Darko Jorgic - can you explain the power of AntiSpin?

There are not that many players with anti but what I do know is that Sabine Winter e.g. has a much better technique with her BH than Luka and she not only by the way but also all the other anti players have a much better stroke because they more than likely have a good basic technique...
  9. Which top player(s) inspired you to play?

Ditto here! Also Stellan Bengtsson got me playing table tennis, especially he is indeed also left-handed. Therefore, my love always goes out to all left-handed table tennis players  I started playing table tennis in 1975 and first saw him live in 1977 at the World Championships in Birmingham.
  10. How many fake left-handers are there?

I am left-handed because I do all sports on the left. Football, all racket sports, basketball (left on top of the ball), darts, golf, etc...but...they taught me to write left at the time in school because we had to learn to write right there. I can get by with right in table tennis a little bit...
  11. Luka Mladenovic EASILY beats Darko Jorgic - can you explain the power of AntiSpin?

His BH movements are abominably bad but he has indeed apparently learned his own movements with the anti. It is un-be-liev-able that someone with so little technique can still make it this far. I keep asking myself then, why didn't this guy just learn good basic technique? Why didn't he just...
  12. Luka Mladenovic EASILY beats Darko Jorgic - can you explain the power of AntiSpin?

Mmmmm, I don't think that either. The movements with his BH are terrible, but it works for him.
  13. WTT Singapore Smash 2024 3/7-3/17

Of course, if you gain 20cm each time on your playing surface and hide your service, you will come a long way obviously.
  14. Luka Mladenovic EASILY beats Darko Jorgic - can you explain the power of AntiSpin?

Forgive me, but this is a typical textbook example of how someone who is totally not technically proficient on his BH can still win a match thanks to equipment. His FH did improve I notice.
  15. More tacky = more spin??

    3. Use your wrist Yamas
  16. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

Has nothing at all to do with anti or Yuna. Winter played a very demotivated match with huge unforced errors. You can't win a match like that, of course.
  17. Anyone play with a total knee replacement?

Yes. Friday night is my weekly TT night. I'm 65 now, after all these years you do start to feel the prostheses more where exactly they are but that's all to do with decreasing your muscle strength around the knee (quadriceps). I am also not of the leanest so they should be able to carry more...
  18. Europe Top-16 Cup 2025

    Very definitely not.
  19. Europe Top-16 Cup 2025

I just watched her match and that is indeed how it works for her. Sabine has a tremendously fast and powerful FH.
  20. Benyamin Faraji 14 years old.

I fear that Benyamin within 10 years, he is going to have problems with his shoulder muscle. Hopefully not!
