  1. Xiom Jekyll & Hyde Rubbers

Great review as always Yogi, nice to see you posting again!!!!
  2. Ma long serve

I’ll concede to vvk1 & Tony, they are much better players than myself!! On closer inspection there is a slight push forward. On my part it was watching but not seeing. This is one of the major aspects of reading spin. We think we are watching the serve and ball like a hawk but actually we don’t
  3. Ma long serve

ML's bat is moving downwards slightly this adds backspin, he also 'shakes' his wrist at impact which adds some more spin.
  4. Deceptive pendulum serve

Hi Franek Video clip in #8 shows the basic way that a pendulum motion can change spin, bat angle is pretty much the same, some slight changes because I'm a person and not a machine!! contact position on the ball is pretty much the same, as is the contact position on the bat. the change that...

  6. Deceptive pendulum serve

Hi, Do you have any video of yourself serving? this would be good for the other posters to see and be able to help. Spin imparted onto a ball is generally governed by a few things, timing, angle of bat, direction the blade is travelling in, point of contact, both on bat and ball. Contact - high...
  7. Crispest Blade you have used

I like Hipnotic’s take on ‘crisp’ like a ‘sharp’ image, all fuzziness removed. Perhaps a ‘crisp’ blade, or set up, only allows the important vibrations through. Those vibrations that convey a sharp and easily recognisable ‘feel’, both for good and poor shots!!!
  8. Boosted Bryce vs Ten/Dig, which is faster?

Rumours that there are ‘Special’ Tenergy etc rubbers available!!! Goon squad are on special covert ops trying to locate !!
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Sorry to hear about your accident Der, hope you recover quickly. Helmet done it’s job nicely, probably best to replace after such a hard impact. I haven’t ‘played’ TT for about 2 months now, due to a knee injury, cartilage inflamed and muscle spasm’s to leg around the knee probably caused by...
  10. Do you really want to learn something?

Drag through the air - A light and smooth TT ball must be very susceptible to air resistance, would a TT ball with dimples, similar to a golf ball fly further? Or is it the light weight that has more importance to drag for a TT ball?
  11. Do you really want to learn something?

Hi BB, liked the graphs and info contained, also appreciate the work you have put in to this thread!! I’m pretty sure that my consistency leaves a lot to be desired!! It’s great to see how the changes in spin, ball speed and bat angles affect the end results. Of course when we play the ball...
  12. Do you really want to learn something?

    Hi BB, Any further progress??
  13. Welcome to TableTennisDaily 2.0 - Bug Report

Last time i checked, still no option to add a new product and post it's review in the 'Reviews' section
  14. Carbon vs Wood

When I was 16ish (oh so long ago!!!) I loved the BTY TAMCA 5000, with Tackiness D and Sriver. Now 40ish yrs later, its All Wood (generally) but the blade I'm using now has carbon, but is defensive. Personally I think that rubbers can be seen to make more of a difference. When I started playing...
  15. Insights on Rakza lineup

Hi SenseiJM, I have no experience with any of the Rakza's other than Rakza Z and Z EH. I tend to lean towards rubbers that have some tackiness to the top sheet and more towards a 'hybrid' type rubber, so that you get better bounce or catapult from the sponge compared to the likes of H3 I use RZ...
  16. BH rubber advice

    Tees Sport in the UK (official UK Butterfly retailer) both rubbers retail for £59.99. = $75.02 = €69.98 Custom Table Tennis have R48 discounted in a sale from £59.99 down to £49.99 = $62.46 = €58.25 TT11 R48 retails for €52.46 = £44.95 = $56.28, unfortunately TT11 don’t stock Butterfly rubbers...
  17. BH rubber advice

R48 and T05 are similarly priced, T05 is meant to be more durable. I’ve used both, T05 for testing rather than match play. R48 is a great rubber, my personal preference was R48 over T05, my level is not as high as yours by the way!! Some other players I know have tried R48 and were surprised how...
  18. Hurricane 9 official news

Thats the basic idea!!! To try and make TT a little more attractive to youngsters, instead of the boring to look at red black combo that everyone has to use, now there will be some more scope to be a bit more ‘individual’.
  19. Why are there restrictions for pips out rubbers?

Of course NOT ALL Vets are going to change to LP’s, !!! For some this would be sacrilege and a u turn against their fundamental belief 😡 So why does there appear to be more older people using LP/Anti/MP and SP’s? Is it because they were playing with LP’s and Anti spin in its heyday of...
  20. Why are there restrictions for pips out rubbers?

Being an inverted rubber user, and not of a high standard, I don’t like playing against LP users!!! This is because basically I’m not good enough!!! Playing against a classic chopper, I don’t like it !!! Again because I’m not good enough!!! I don’t have enough consistency, and this is what...
