  1. Rakza Z Extra Hard

Review by 'IB66' on item 'Rakza Z Extra Hard'

After using the normal version of Rakza Z, it was only going to be a matter of time before I tried the EH version!!In many ways RZ EH plays very similarly to RZ, as would be expected, the feel is somewhat harder because of the harder sponge, RZ EH is less bouncy on softer strokes, a little more...
  2. Generating spin on serves

I have 4 basic serve motions or actions, and if fit, with time available I’ll try and hit around 100 balls per service action twice a week.
  3. Generating spin on serves

Practice makes perfect!! And serves need to be given a reasonable amount of practice time. I haven’t played for about 3-4 weeks due to an injury. Today I opened up the garage and did some serve practice, what a shambles!! Ball toss consistency gone!! Which then leads to other issues as each toss...
  4. Generating spin on serves

Matt Hetherington also did a vid on ‘what is a good serve’ this is definitely worth watching as well, basically what I posted in post#11 and my comments are based on his vid.
  5. Advice how do I break through my current level ceiling?

Hi Michael, If you can, get a coach, preferably for some 1 to 1 coaching, if not, then some group coaching. improving technique and combining with the random drills is the way to go. So some info about myself. I am a part qualified level one coach!!! part qualified because I got COVID and had...
  6. Generating spin on serves

Predictability of serve return, is the REAL DEAL. If you know that one of your serve variations is usually returned in the same way, ie top spin return, to the same area of the table 8 out of 10 times, then you are almost just waiting for your opponent to put the ball where you are expecting...
  7. How to break the habit of a too long backswing?

Hi, it would be better to post this on the ‘safe video’ thread. It’s kinda reserved for asking advice and getting some opinions from some TTD members that are better positioned to do so.This way you’ll get consistent advice. Otherwise anyone can chip in regardless of their ability and experience.
  8. Who has tried Loki N80?

Perhaps BD is more like a Hybrid? How long does the BD factory tuning last? And does it then revert back to a more classic Chinese type rubber?
  9. Who has tried Loki N80?

BD is factory tuned, so I can see what you are saying about comparing it to unboosted H3 but you still can compare. Fairly?? it’s like saying you can’t compare T05 ( which BTY say isn’t booted ) to R48 which is factory tuned.
  10. Who has tried Loki N80?

So, I have used N80, BD and H3 / H3 Neo (in various types) when I used BD it was when I returned to TT, so around 3 yrs ago, memory is fuzzy, as i didn’t use it much, can’t remember the sponge hardness etc and now I strike the ball (hopefully with better technique!!!) has changed. Looking back...
  11. Who has tried Loki N80?

As Kuba says technique etc is a factor and peoples opinions are personal ones!!Also you would have to have all three rubbers mounted on the same blade type, at the same time, so you can get a direct comparison. BOSS 😎 EJ required!!! With 20+ identical blades and the time to test everything at...
  12. Non-shrinking ESN rubbers

Exactly the same happened to a sheet of R53 I had!! With R53 the shrinkage seems excessive to say the least!!!!, From memory R48 shrank as well but not as badly as R53. These must be boosted to hell and back!!!!
  13. Can't topspin good with new rubber?

The only disappointment is that of the forum members!!! the sooner that Sergey takes the plunge the better!!! I'm sure he'll get a very warm welcome!!!!😃
  14. Can't topspin good with new rubber?

Cheers ttarc, These are easy to see and understand, I've watched them all at some point previously, compared to someone talking with a few graphs they win hands down!!!!
  15. Can't topspin good with new rubber?

Never mind hearing the end of it, it would be great to hear the start of it from Mr Tsos!!!😀
  16. Defence with Short Pips Advice

Back in the day, choppers were using short pips with no or thin sponges, Barna style. So you can use SP for defence. Nowadays there’s more choice, SP are usually more associated with a more attacking style, not as much ‘ disruption ‘ you can play standard type strokes easier, top spin, chop etc...
  17. Can't topspin good with new rubber?

I love this type of thread!!! FZD’s loop blocked into net, then he has varied the spin, taken off spin. In a way it’s no different to receiving a serve that looks like it has top spin but is actually Back / down spin. Similar to the back spin flick return!! Looks like a top spin flick but...
  18. People who switched from carbon back to wood, how’s it going?

I think that there is a ‘Butterfly feel’ especially for the Tenergies T05, T19, Etc, I haven’t tried the other Dignics rubbers only D09C, Spin Art felt similar to D09C. D09C and Spin Art felt like a slower version ( because of the slight tackiness ) of Tenergy I’m not saying that in a blind test...
  19. People who switched from carbon back to wood, how’s it going?

I can see where you’re coming from, interesting how people see things. D09C a boosted H3?? I just filed it away as a hybrid type rubber!! Still not totally convinced its BTY’s answer to boosted H3, especially as plenty of people seem to boost T05/D09C etc.
  20. Rasanter R45

Ooooohhhh nooooo!!! EJ shakes have just gone into overdrive!!! 🤪 just gotta get me some!!!!!!!
