  1. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

That's because you've gotten used to uncontrolled circumstances and have accepted it. What if you didn't have to deal with it? Wouldn't it be a better game?
  2. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

But it allows an unusual bounce that is almost impossible to return. Which takes away from skill in the game.
  3. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

Well I guess you place game play over eliminating cheap points. I don't think it's a big sacrifice to eliminate something that isn't part of most other types of racquet sports. I can't think of many other sports where there are as many instances of points that are out of your control. I just...
  4. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

I still don't see the issue. You would eliminate the unfair, unearned edge ball by giving up 20mm of a small possibility of changing your decision to loop or push. For me it's a no brainer. Like I mentioned before if people don't think the back edge should be tampered with you could only...
  5. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

So you'd rather deal with an edge ball that could result in a lost point rather than changing your judgment to loop or push?
  6. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

I don't understand the 2nd bounce issue. It's no different than any other ball that is short. We're talking 20mm here which wouldn't make a whole lot of difference for long or short balls. However the improvement would be massive to eliminate edge balls and unearned points. If that is such a...
  7. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

I always thought edge balls are only considered in if it hits somewhere on the horizontal surface. Any vertical surface is considered out.
  8. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

No, it's not a dead zone. A ball that hits on the line is considered in. Right? So if the ball hits anywhere on the horizontal surface is considered good with the extra area considered good. However if the ball hits an edge it would be outside of the line and considered out. Very easy to...
  9. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

We're talking 20mm here. Half the width of the ball.
  10. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

Well my point was to remove any vertical side so all bounces would only be from the horizontal surface.
  11. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

The side of the table? There would still be an "edge". My point is to remove any edges in play.
  12. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

Say what??? if the ball lands on the edge of the line it would be a true bounce and played just like any other ball. There would be no advantage either way.
  13. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

All this controversy around edge balls can be easily solved. All you have to do is make the tables 20mm bigger. Half the size of the ball. That way if any ball hits an edge it is easily called out. Every ball that hits on the line has a true bounce and can be played normally. It's basically...
  14. DHS Goldarc 9 is now available

Does this mean DHS can still make a tacky rubber?
  15. Rxton 9 vs Rakza Z

Is there a Rxton 9 that comes in Red? I only see it in black. If not, what else is comparable to Rx9 that comes in red?
  16. WTT 2024 feeder events

Kanak looks really good. His bh is very consistent and puts pressure on opponents. Clearly he hasn't been practicing his serves during the layoff. He missed too many serves.
  17. Lost interest in WTT

They tried the half colored balls and I heard the pros didn't like them because it was too easy to read spin. Dots would just be a blur and no one would be able to see any difference.
  18. Getting thrashed during office games?

I've had this exact problem before. Playing a pick up game at a rec center or office with crap equipment I get thrashed because I cannot adjust to the different game. On one hand I think I should force myself to adjust and learn how to play with various equipment. Then on the other hand it...
  19. ITTF/WTT problems reported from players

Parents don't encourage your kids to play TT as a profession. There is no money to be made and they will suffer financial and mental stress.
  20. Long pips vs spaghetti-string tennis racket.

Good for you. I'm entitled to my opinion and I'm telling everybody that it's corrupting the game. LP is only effective if they're playing inverted. It's completely useless if they play each other. Which is why they should create a separate category for players that want to use LP.
