  1. Major League TT

I think that they should embrace the grassroots social scene and have like an amateur event at the times they aren't having matches. Or have Fan Expos at the very least. The World Championships were special to have in the US, so the event itself was a draw. For an event trying to gain traction...
  2. Major League TT

These logos are like early-MLS level lol. If the Florida Crocs don't have a Crocs footwear deal by the end of this, then I'll be highly disappointed. Might be interested in checking out the Houston event. If there was a side tournament to enter, I'd 100% go.

Played in a league event today, first competitive event in almost a year. I arrived just in time, so I went directly into my first match. Everyone I played was in the 1100-1400 range. Match 1: I played way too tentative and passive in the first game, but ended up tied 1-1. A lot of missing top...
  4. Xiom Vega series

The Vega topsheet definitely does feel like I can bang it up easily. Then again, I literally just tore my Rakza 7. I have a batch of C-1's coming in soon, so I'm interested in seeing how it compares to how I felt when playing with the Europe and Pro.

I agree with your assessment. A lot of what I'm getting caught out on are balls going directly to my middle. I'm also using all arm on my loops, so the power transfer is something I really have to focus on. I can see if I can get some recordings if I go to league this week.

Got to play a few people in the 1500-1800ish range today and boy I can not get my legs and my arms synced up when playing. Drilling has been good just need to get a proper sync in a match. Probably going to focus on irregular drills just to get in and out of my backhand and forehand stances.

Something I want to work on soon is getting short pushes on my forehand side. I always go for the flick, but I'd like to learn it. Had two good practices this week. Definitely takes me a while to get my legs and hips going, something to keep in mind for events.

Long work week for me, so I'm doing some small shadow practices at home today. Watched some of the WTT Rio Semis and Finals. Pretty great matches all around. Watching Hina Hayata's pushes and loops vs Linda Bergstrom's defensive play gave me a few ideas to try against our local pusher. Got...
  9. Xiom Vega series

I find that I have to replace my Europe every 3-4 months if I play 2-3 times a week. But the price is pretty cheap, so I can't complain too much.

6 hours of practice in two days with another 2-3 hours left this week. I had two hours of coaching yesterday. Worked on a lot of consistency drills on the forehand, consistency drills on when to take the bounce on the forehand side, some light movement drills, full arm loops, blocks, backhand...

Did some more testing on R7 and the Vega Europe BH swap. I think I'm preferring the dwell time a lot more on my backhand. Definitely had an increase in spin from some of my counter shots. I've made a lot less mistakes on forehand today with the R7. Consistency is a bit off with the swap, but...

Decided to experiment a little bit and switched my R7 to forehand. In my limited testing, I'm more consistent with returning backspin or side spin from it. My BH quality seemed to be a bit better with a softer rubber. Hopefully, I can get a good coaching session in this weekend.

I'll look at the C1 once this Europe fades. At the rate I'm playing, it'll probably be done in a month. I've definitely hit the Rakza 7 a lot more, so it's pretty durable.

I'm not sure what to use yet. I just bought this sheet of Vega Europe and I'm so mad I have a tear in it lol.

Had a pretty good 3 hr training session today. I found my FH apparently. Second time in two months that I tear the topsheet of my Vega Europe.
  16. Xiom Vega Korea Review

Yeah, I think you're right on that end. I like their price point for the Vega series (~$35) and shipping is relatively fast. It's just a long time until one of their sellers get it in stock lol.

Megaspin. Not sure about the others

I get pretty stuck when widening my stance, like I just can't move. I might have to play around with it more, but I tend to reach with my arms a lot more if I play it wider. Hinging puts a bit of pressure on my lower back. When I got tired, I ended up doing a weird front squat stance to...

I used to be able to consistently stay in a lower stance during high school athletics, but it's definitely been a while.

The stroke trajectory is something that I'll try out for sure. Amazingly, my legs aren't as nearly as sore as my back, but having my technique being based on staying low is something that's in the back of my mind as I get older.
