  1. Franziska Innerforce ZLC

To address a couple questions. One, I have only played with Ovtcharov inner ALC and Franziska inner ZLC. So I cannot make comment about Butterfly Innerforce Layer ALC. I am not really a big Butterfly user. I have some Butterfly blades for collection only and I have not been tempted to put...
  2. I want opinions on my chances of pro

I only have a couple feedback. One, keep on playing only if you are passionate about the sport and you truly enjoy it. Two, you should aspire to be the next Adam Bobrow or Dan/Tom from TTD. To be honest, there is no money in pro table tennis. Instead, if you truly love the sport and have some...
  3. Any European rubbers that can replace Hurricane?

Agree. I keep on coming back to Hurricane on the forehand. Backhand, I keep on coming back to ESN/Japanese rubbers. The "only" non-hurricane rubber I would replace H3 blue sponge would be Dignics 09c. It is like a well boosted hurricane, except that in the short game, D09c is still a bit more...
  4. Best rubber under $5?

They are fake. If you ok with playing fake Tenergy that plays like a chinese rubber with tacky top sheets for a cheap price, you can always order it and see if you like it.
  5. Best rubber under $5?

Out of the rubbers on the list, I have tried Yinhe Mercury 2, Sanwei T88 Ultra spin and Rxton 1. Mercury 2 is out of the question. It is very very tacky. Rxton 1, it was a while ago. I just remembered that it was very good for its price. So it would be my second choice. Sanwei T88 Ultra Spin...
  6. Franziska Innerforce ZLC

I like the non-linear aspect of the blade. In the beginning, I was not used to it. But once you get used to it, you either love it or you hate it. I don't know how the blade goes from very slow to very fast depending on how hard you hit with it. I think Butterfly must be doing something...
  7. Help me with equipment (2 years exp player)

2.0 = 2.0mm Max sponge = 2.2mm or 2.3mm (most manufacturers don't put that info on the packaging other than "MAX"). Do not go for Xiom Vega Europe. Go with Mark V 2.0mm sponge. You will play better and enjoy the sport that way.
  8. How was my choice of wood and rubber?

Fine choice. For 2 years, I used Tibhar Stratus Powerwood with H3 orange sponge commercial on the FH and G-1 on my BH. It is a fine set-up. Nothing wrong with it.
  9. Lighter BH rubber for CPEN setup

Maybe I will piss some people off here. But my advice is to switch to shakehand. I used to play Jpen and then Cpen with RPB. When I played Cpen with RPB, the overall set up was just too heavy. Plus, the inverted rubber on the backside really makes it hard to grip the paddle properly (I sweat a...
  10. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

I read through the thread. A few comments and observations. I really enjoyed the tournament. I never realized how exhausting it is to watch live table tennis matches. Over the course of three days, I spent 12 hours just watching live matches. The first night, I went to the main stadium. But the...
  11. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

After hearing him live in the practice hall, I think he has been yelling at least 25% or more than before. That's where his FH power comes from :)
  12. My first carbono blade.

Choose Viscaria. It has a slightly better control than Timo Boll ALC. You are already used to Butterfly product so you cannot go wrong with Viscaria. I personally would not choose other brands that are cheaper because, well, if you don't like it, you would always be wondering what if you have...
  13. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

So I called earlier today and talked to the box office at the Orleans arena. I mentioned about the tent situation (I was deciding to attend the main event or go to the tent), the lady from the box office happened to say that tables 2, 3 and 4 were supposed to be at MGM. However, something...
  14. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

Agree. It is time for the umpires to call for service fault. If it goes both ways (both the umpire and the opposing player can challenge a serve using TTR), I think it is going to be good for the sport. Darko obviously could toss the ball vertical. It is just that he is used to toss it more to...
  15. Xiom blade Hugo Hal.

I remember visiting Spinfactory website. They allow pre-ordering. TT11 also got back to me and said they will have the stock coming in. TT11 unfortunately said that their system does not pre-ordering. so when the inventory arrives, it is first come, first serve. If you are interested in that...
  16. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

Sun Yingsha vs Goda, the arena was only 5-10% full. Lots of empty seats. SYS's fans were cheering quite loud and came prepared with signs. In the big screen at the arena, the WTT camera kept on showing those fans holding up signs/banners with SYS' face on it. However, there was a section of the...
  17. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

I attended the match live earlier today. I just stayed there from 6pm to 10:30pm so I don't have time to rewatch the match from WTT's YouTube channel or go to ESPN 3 since the match was held at table 1 in the Maverick arena. So this is purely by memory. I recall Darko was leading in the third...
  18. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

Lol, you are right! I literally clicked on it about 1.5 hours ago and it did not work. Now it works. It looks like a ton of people are watching Miyuu Kihara vs Kuai Man and Chen Xingtong v.s. He Zhoujia.
  19. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

Great win. On WTT website, the 91% voted for Pitchford/Hursey to win. That just shows how unpredictable these results can be!
  20. United States Smash 2025, Las Vegas, 7/3-13

Wait. If Chen Yuanyu plays in MLTT, does that mean he needs to retire from international competition as well? :) On a more serious note, I cannot see tables 2-4 on live stream on YouTube anymore. That does not make sense because ESPN 3 only covers table 1 and tables 2-4 should be available on...
