  1. The Ultimate Table Tennis Beginners Guide

This is a very nice project. You could say a bit more about spin. The way sidespin operates in particular is not intuitive at all to most new players. No spin might be worth a mention too, in the context of changing spins and what happens if you push against no spin. You also did not...
  2. Video Footage Safe Thread

Nice to see you and your coach looking happy in training! Having fun in training contributes a lot to success. Related to that, your reactions when you miss are not helping you. Even after twenty good balls in a row you miss one and visibly judge yourself. That instant judgment kind of...

Hi loerting, Your forehand was pretty effective in this match and you hit some nice ones. The one at 4:05 when you swung more forward was particularly good. To my mind the swing isn't too long. It's too long for counter-topspin close to the table, because you really need to take those on...
  4. Just tried ZJK ZLC, why don't people like ZLC?

Because my shots spring off the end of the table fast. And my serves and pushes spring over the endline and get looped.
  5. Just tried ZJK ZLC, why don't people like ZLC?

These are the things I don't like about ZLC.
  6. Lifespan of the blades

They last until you get stuck playing at the same level for longer than you think is fair.
  7. People who switched from carbon back to wood, how’s it going?

Another guy who takes lessons from my coach has DHS Goldarc 8 fh. I hit with his setup for a few minutes and the G8 felt really nice, easy and consistent. It's an ESN tensor, not tacky at all, so not sure if that's what you meant by a hybrid. It's not tacky rubber with euro sponge, just a...
  8. Has anyone tried Donic Baracuda or Baracuda Big Slam?

Almost everyone who played a longish time has tried these two rubbers. They have been around for a while and were quite popular. Big Slam was much too soft, plain baracuda was quite nice. Here is a quote from zeio with some comparable rubbers. You may have already tried one of them, or...
  9. People who switched from carbon back to wood, how’s it going?

Not at all, possibly you are absolutely right. Bear with me, here is some logic for why I think all-wood could be equally bad for an un-coached beginner. A player will want to hit about as fast as the people he is normally playing with. Because at first it's very hard to make enough spin to...
  10. People who switched from carbon back to wood, how’s it going?

If you are being taught to play with proper technique there is no issue. It won't matter if you start with carbon or wood. You are being taught proper technique! Play with whatever you and your coach agree on. If you are self-taught then maybe equipment matters a little. But there is a...
  11. People who switched from carbon back to wood, how’s it going?

16 euro this week on sale https://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng/neottec-gamma-all or if you want to spend more they also have for 21 euro https://www.tabletennis11.com/other_eng/yasaka-sweden-extra
  12. People who switched from carbon back to wood, how’s it going?

There is a lot of overlap between wood and carbon blades, so it's a little weird to talk about them like there are only two clearly separate options. Sure we can say with some confidence it's easier for an amateur to spin with an allplay than with a primorac carbon. But only because spin...
  13. Is BEO Store on AliExpress legit?

Same here, both playa and beo are solid.
  14. A happy accident – do i go for a wood blade?

Aibiss is the hardest rubber ever. You will not enjoy playing from mid-distance with it. Maybe keep your fh rubber the same for now. You are already changing the blade and bh rubber.
  15. New Equipment to stay with for new season

Out of your choices I would play the appelgren allplay with bluestorm z3. Play a safe game with lots of spin and good control, and build from there.
  16. Heavy or Light for looping?

five-ply limba outer is going to be the consensus. after that it's down to how much you want to pay and what handle shapes you like. Idk how up to date it is with new blades, but this composition database can be hours of fun. https://stervinou.net/ttbdb/compo.php
  17. WTT Star Contender Doha 2022

If NL is talking about top 10 WR and Takkyu about actual best ten players in the world then no wonder the conversation is useless except to kill time between sessions in Doha. Unless you think another woman will take the continental champs away from Adriana then she has a good chance to stay...
  18. British National Champs - Nottingham

Who won the ladies, and the women U21?
  19. Video Footage Safe Thread

Easy to train both skills together, like in this video from the very nice Road to Pro channel. https://youtu.be/bb_NMvirE2w Coach serves short, you push short, he pushes long to your BH, free (or BH-BH) You serve short, coach pushes short, you push back short, he pushes long to your BH ...
  20. My Thoughts on the Main DHS Rubbers

H8 doesn't feel factory boosted to me. It doesn't slow down in any noticeable way after a few months of use. Just the topsheet wears out. It is nice to boost it with seamoon though.
