Your complaint with T05 is that is is too bouncy. So from your list my pick would be the H8-80. H8 is an easy rubber to play with great control. And nobody would call it bouncy. The -80 version will be a little bouncier than the plain H8, which you will probably need coming from spring sponge.
Blanket permission to comment for people who have played an OP IRL would make sense. Video footage is nice, but playing a match with someone is real knowledge. And it's pretty unlikely that the kind of unthinking online meanness you were worried about will come up between people who may...
I'm very interested in this training plan discussion. Thanks wrighty67 for bringing it up. Sorry for such a long ramble post, but maybe there is something in it worthwhile.
Multiball for me is a question of training time. At home I have 12 -14 hours a week for TT. Three hours one-on-one...
It isn't actually boosting specifically that is illegal. It is treating your rubber with any substance or in any way after it leaves the manufacturer. There used to be a type of glue called speed glue. As the name says it made the rubber faster. Unfortunately speed glue also contained...
It truly is amazing how infinite the gradations of level are in this sport. When you see people playing and it looks simple and consistent you should be very afraid. Most of us look awful. The average point lasts maybe three shots, with lots of receive errors. Table tennis is so...
Both things are true. Boosting is against ITTF rules, and many players do it anyway. If you are a beginner don't bother with boosting right now. It might make it harder for you to learn because the rubber would be faster.
Technique advice will not help with a tournament in two days. If anything it will only cause problems to think about it. Just play and have fun.
If you want something to work on at a tournament, you could do a lot worse than Tahl Leibovitz's PEZ idea from PingPong for Fighters.
Placement...
I didn't feel it was my place to say this in my first post but now I will. Do you have options for other coaches?
You are not happy with your technique. We are also not happy with some of your technique. In particular the way you use your shoulder on your forehand carries a high risk of...
Some thoughts:
In general you are applying too much force. It's clear you are very fit. The ball weighs only three grams. Muscular tension isn't helpful when applying force to such a tiny object. I think that is why your elbow stays bent at 90 degrees instead of opening and closing...
I like the side angle very much for watching serve and receive since it is mostly over the table. It would be nice if they could change the camera angles smoothly during the action. The way every other sport in the world does.
They have some amazing first round matches in the second session on T1. FTW v Kuai Man, LJK v Gauzy, LSW v JJH, ML v Freitas. All good stuff for a R64.
Could you develop a safe, slow, spinny bh open against those heavy pushes? Many of the euro players who are not so fh-dominant seem to use that tactic and it works out for them.
Don't change. This part of your post is enough to see that you are good with what you have.
Or, if you are set on changing, do it for the fun of trying new stuff and not in the hope that it will make you play better. It won't.
How old are they? I think if you got them involved in planning their own training that would separate the more serious ones from those who only want to play around. Take a little time to talk as a group about how they win and lose points, where they want to improve. Let them see where they...
When you first try a new setup for a few minutes, particularly one belonging to a respected player or coach, oftentimes you immediately play much better. Usually the improvement does not carry over if you make that setup your main playing bat. Not always. But usually it does not.
Any feedback on the two videos above would be welcome. Just please be gentle because I was training four hours a day for a week and my legs were kind of shot, especially in the second one.
Those two vids are the first exercises in an attempt to change the way I move. Since even before...
