A lot of the choices we have to make or would like to make, are to some extent dependent on being able to ‘choose the right ball’ have a degree of patience, rather than just go in guns blazing!!
TT isn’t a race, my coaches say it’s more like a fast paced chess match, Each player is probing...
‘Finding the middle’ or ‘Crossover point’ is a very good tactic to employ.
Pleas correct me if I’m not 100% correct or there’s more to add.
A player’s ‘middle’ or ‘crossover point is usually associated more with shake hand players rather than traditional pen hold grip. Although it’s still...
Hi Dipak,
great post !! Nice someone has taken the time to reply!!
Shot quality plays a major part of the implementation of your tactics. That’s where a coach or team mate can help and advise, they are in a position to take an objective view of the match as it progresses and advise which...
I’m using an iPad, I don’t have any issues using the ‘+’ icon when starting threads, but sometimes when attaching photos form the iPads gallery there are issues getting them to load up properly, I use the ‘photo’ icon, just a pain having to keep repeating the process until the photos eventually...
Well, no posts on this thread!!
no surprise I suppose, people seem much more interested in equipment and other topics!!
perhaps it’s not something people really think is necessary, then you should take a look at some of Brian’s vids (Panda Pong) where he described how he changes tactics during...
Hi BB, table only reveals itself when I reply to your post, Der is having similar issues when posting photos, gotta be some sort of glitch going on with the system!!
The Acoustics are great blades, as are the BTY TB ALC, Viscaria and loads of blades by other manufacturers!!! Xiom ice cream, etc etc etc
Ask your coach what changes he/she thinks you should make.
Blade only?
Rubber only?
Both?
Blades are, for a lot of people more ‘personal’ than rubbers. By...
This is a topic that doesn’t crop up enough!!!
Proof of this is that there is no drop down option when you create a thread, so that’s why I had to choose a ‘general discussion on table tennis’
Whether you play socially, local league, regional tournaments or at higher level, you really would like...
Yeah!!! Good question!!!!
Faster blade will need the USER to have better control, so there could be a drop in a players performance short term and long term if they are unable to ‘improve’ their technique using a faster blade.
Hi,
See if you can find someone that owns or uses a Nittaku Acoustic inner or outer blade, these blades are known to retain the ‘woody’ feel.
I have the all wood and inner versions, these ‘feel’ pretty much the same to me, the difference in speed is noticeable, by this I mean that the inner...
I haven’t played with the TDE for about 4 or 5 weeks now, I’ll check my sheet today to see what the tackiness is like.
I played last Monday using H8-80, the weather here in England hasn’t been very hot, but it’s muggy’ with highish humidity. Monday was the first time I noticed that the rubbers...
After seeing Der’s post regarding Sergey Tsos Scoobie Doo, playing at the 888 tourney and Der’s ongoing quest to get Sergey to sign-up and start posting on TTD.
Let see if we can all shout out and ‘Sign up Sergey’
From what Der is saying Sergey has great knowledge and would benefit the Forum...
Hi Der,
another good vid!!
Pace seemed a little slow, but I guess that’s down to the chopping tactics. Would these guys be at the lower end of the Div 1 ratings?
Tonight I played with the H8-80 37/38 degree rubbers, mounted on a Primorac all wood.
Recently I have been using Tau 2 on the same blade.
I found it very easy to swap from the Tau 2 to the H8-80, these rubbers are pretty similar in many respects.
Black 38 degree on FH and Red 37 degree on BH...
Dina said it softens up the rubber and changes the bounce (later on) not ‘destroys’ the rubbers properties!!
Generally I don’t use a hairdryer, but if pressed for time then I would. But I agree that that it’s best to let dry naturally.
The N80 rubber is a top quality H3 type ‘clone’ ,sponge is very similar, top sheet better quality.
The Arthur series of rubbers use a black carbon cake sponge and are made in Germany, so quality is good. Sponge is similar to the Xiom black sponges, whether they are the same sponges ? I’m not...
