  1. TableTennisDaily VLOG #7 - World Ping Pong Championships 2017

http://www.worldchampionshipofpingpong.net/news/yan-new-world-champion/ According to this article he said he's never had any professional table tennis training so I can't imagine it to be too high. He also said that he's only been playing ping pong for 6 months, pretty impressive that he did so...

Played my first grand prix and first tournament other than BUCS which is playing against other universities. Only entered the banded competition and since I had no ranking points I played in band 5 and 6. Started off poorly by losing my first game in the group stages and was 0-2 and 9-10 down...
  3. Coaching adults vs coaching kids

It seems that you as an adult were able to adapt your technique despite issues in mobility. You fixed/adapted it, hence you got to the.. NextLevel ;). I think there are many factors which need to be considered, a lot of it depends on the adult learners mindset too. Overthinking things is...
  4. Simon Gauzy and Shibaev Bust Up at Europe Top 16

It hit the net clamp which counts as the net, then hits the table so he has to put the ball away in order to get the point. He wouldn't get the point if he failed to put it away.

Went to the ping-pong world championships over the weekend and just got back home, thought I'd share a few pictures. Amazing experience and lucky that we got free tickets as the head of our club the woman on the left in the 7th picture (my team mate on the right) raises money for cancer...
  6. World Ping Pong Championships 2017

The atmosphere is amazing, Flemming has a lot of support. Watch out for me on stream, head of my club is in a pink pink-pong shirt and a cap and just above to her right are some others from her club and me ;).
  7. World Ping Pong Championships 2017

I will be there with some others from my club, really looking forward to it! :D

I agree. I actually find it interesting that people care so much about things they ultimately have no control over instead of just focusing on themselves and what they can do to get better. So if you don't think they're credible (which you have all right to do) then simply ignore it and move on...

That's a shame, understandable though! Travel and hotel costs plus entry was almost too steep for me as well but being my first GP I couldn't resist the temptation.

Looking forward to seeing it :) and you'll have to let me know if you're going to Bath GP, it's all booked for me and I will be there on the Sunday too. Not sure if the others from my uni are wanting to go look around the city on the Sunday though.

This really depends on the person, what level they are at and what changes are being made. I agree but as I said if you're critical about what you choose to apply then you won't be making this mistake.
  12. table tennis tips "Increase Spin in table tennis by Chinese coaching"

All you need to do really if you don't trust the credibility of that person or know their skill level is to take what they're saying with a pinch of salt. You can also compare to what other coaches have said e.g. the thumb and index finger tip seems to be a good one as many others have said the...

I'm a leftie and have had a few people "complain".. ironically I also prefer to not play other lefties in league games :P. Also get the occasional one who doesn't realize I'm a leftie until several sets or the games over and go "ohh so that's why.." I've also noticed that the people who have...

  15. Liu Shiwen offered $1million!!

Funnily enough I read/heard somewhere that Zhang Jike's dad wanted him to stop playing football and to start playing table tennis because there was more money in it. Can't remember where I got it from or whether it's true though.
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Ah, makes sense :). Well if we have time over on the Saturday we could play a bit! Pretty sure you're a lot better, but I've taken players in the top 150 to 5 so I'll hopefully be able to put up a little bit of a fight ;).
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

It's the first tournament I'll be entering other than BUCS so I don't know. Think we're only entering the banded tournament on the Saturday.

I might be going to Bath grandprix with a friend. Maybe I will see you there? :)
  19. Can European players compete with the Chinese?

I think he's talking about players of this generation (although maze is out now) against the the Chinese players of this generation. I don't see where you're getting it from that he's putting maze in the same category as waldner? But the point of talking about those that do trouble the Chinese...
