  1. Why would you use short pips?

But the straight line thing only applies with no net, right? To hit the ball in a totally straight line the contact point would have to be significantly higher than the net, otherwise you need some curve to the ball flight and that either has to be Gravity or spin (or both). If it only is...
  2. Why would you use short pips?

I think most do it because they have a weakness with the backhand, everyone starts with double inverted and some switch after some time. But mima ito became pretty good with it:)
  3. Loop arc height over the net

Yeah I can see a low shot being more dangerous but also more risky because you can hit the net. Of course it is also true that it depends on positioning and type of shot.
  4. Loop arc height over the net

I noticed that if I try to loop often it goes low over the net and sometimes even hits the top of the net. Obviously my technique isn't great so I wonder what you can do to make your loop arc higher. And is it even good to hit a higher arcing loop? It seems like pros often nowadays hit very low...
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Turkish president erdogan has a funny grip on the bat:). Unfortunately the only stroke you can do with it is TPB https://twitter.com/Almanya_News/status/1580236181803241474?t=YUIgIO7JKJTBF9M5QhgKsg&s=19
  6. The counterloop era?

I think pros are really good at back and forward movement because it really requires agility to move like that from a wider stance while side stepping is pretty easy and natural from that position. Those pros are really good at stepping in to get to the short ball and then almost jumping back...
  7. The counterloop era?

But I think at the lower amateur level opening up with loop first still usually is an advantage because many amateur players can't counterloop consistently and will only block a loop.
  8. The counterloop era?

I saw a video by the german tt federation on tactical developments of the game and they also said that the new ball and equipment means that attacking first is not as much of an advantage as it used to be and that it can be a good strategy to lure the opponent into attacking first, basically...
  9. Had a forehand loop revelation

I tried the tip with the shadow swing. I think it got a little better but I still have trouble relaxing the forearm and using it to create more spin https://youtube.com/shorts/AnQoqC6JQ74?feature=share
  10. Easy-To-Use Tensor Rubbers

I think the carbon blade earlier thing mostly should apply to high level juniors though. of course a 12 year old national level player who practices 20 hours a week can use carbon but for recreational youth players who do have structured practice but maybe practice like 3 hours a week it still...
  11. Franziska wins 11-0?

Wow I think you really improved a lot in your game, you were keeping up quite well in the counterlooping rallies with franz.
  12. FH rubbers suggestions

Would maybe changing your style a little help? Timo boll also changed his style as he got older playing closer to the table and a little flatter instead of going super spinny all the time to save some energy and it has worked pretty well for him...
  13. Easy-To-Use Tensor Rubbers

Gewo neoflex eft should also fit there. I'm using it on my backhand in 45 hardness
  14. How to play against Short pimple rubber ( especially killer )

How are they beating you? Are you making mistakes? Or are they smashing your loops?
  15. Tenergy 05 vs 05FX?

Aren't basically all high performance "pro rubbers" with high spin level also spin sensitive on receive? Is it possible to create a very spinny rubber which isn't spin sensitive? I'm no expert but basically the "anti spin" effect of antis and long pips is that the ball slips on it, right...
  16. Forehand attack pattern for lefty

For a righty a pretty simple attack pattern is to hit inside out into the backhand of the opponent and pin him there until you can finish down the line. But as a lefty I'm a bit unsure what to do in some situations. Sure if he hits into my forehand I can hit cross court into his BH but what...
  17. Switching to modern defense - Material suggestions

Do you play in a league where players are able to hit several loops in a row? Imo in some lower leagues you can't really play modern defense because you need attackers who can consistently loop for that but many lower league offensive players will mostly push, block and flat hit and maybe hit...
  18. 5-10 year old unopened Tenergy?

I don't think it's great to leave them unopened that long but a lot also depends on the storage conditions. It they had been stored dark and at constant temperature they might be ok but if they were exposed to sunlight and changing temperatures for extended periods they might be very bad.
  19. Dignics 05 vs Tenergy 05-FX - Which one is faster?

09c is rated the same speed but he was talking about d05 which is rated slightly higher by BTY.
  20. Dignics 05 vs Tenergy 05-FX - Which one is faster?

I have not played it but butterfly rates dignics slightly higher in speed, 13.5 for d and 13.0 for t. Not sure how correct that is of course.
